Eric James Yzaguirre, 21, Charged With Domestic Violence (Guess Who's His Mother? His Lawyer?)

Photo swiped from Irving Inquisition Blog, and lord only knows where he got it, it's been passed around like a crack whore on Lake Street in the old days, blog post by John Hoff

The arrest of Eric James Yzaguirre, age 21, wouldn't normally be worth any commentary whatsoever in North Minneapolis. Eric lives in South Minneapolis at 3539 12th Ave. S., which the jailhouse roster conveniently lists as "moms house." (That word "moms" really needs a possessive apostrophe) The house is owned by Theresa N. Yzaguirre. (Thank you, online property records) I should mention there are taxes due on the house. For this year AND for at least one previous year.

Yet the Hennepin County jail is filled with oh-so-innocent-UNTIL-proven-guilty folks, and normally what would this blog care about some South Minneapolis loser charged with domestic violence?

Eric J. Yzaguirre is, however, the son of Theresa N. Yzaguirre, who has made it her unpaid business to viciously attack North Minneapolis personalities and neighborhood revitalization efforts through her blog, the Mpls Mirror. (It should be noted the publication is, in fact, a one-woman blog with occasional contributors, though its format--like that of the grandiosely titled "IBNN News"--is more dressed up and pretentious than a blog)

Sonny boy Eric was arrested and jailed on November 1, received by the jail at 9:58 a.m. (Thank you, online jailhouse roster)

He was released from custody the next day, at 4:56 PM, thus spending the better part of two days in jail. None other than the notorious Jill Clark has been retained as his attorney, she of the utterly failed "true JACC" lawsuit (more on that later) and various other colorful North Minneapolis episodes. (Thank you, online court docket searchable by attorney)

This should be good. (Rubbing hands together)

Will Clark be alleging some kind of "conspiracy" against the dear lad for his mother's internet ramblings? Not unlike the deep and massive purported "conspiracy" against her other client, Level Three sex offender Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer?

Just so everybody can see how serious all the charges are, here they are...

Domestic Abuse No Contact Order - Violate No Contact Order - Misdemeanor

Note how there appear to be three separate instances in the courts, dated October 13, 18 and then October 28. The first instance is "domestic assault" and some really minor alleged property damage.

But then on the 18th we see a plethora of six charges, which all appear to be related to some kind of violent or ATTEMPTED violent incident, in the middle of which was an effort to make a 911 call, which was allegedly interfered with...yup, pretty much your standard domestic. It is unknown if these two instances represent different events, or merely the "piling on" of more charges by the prosecutor at a later date.

But then, on October 28, he's charged with violating a no contact order. He ends up in jail on November 1, gets released on November 2.

Now Jill Clark is his attorney.

Hard to say which of these things represents the worst luck.

JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: Criminal Record Of Steven Eric Meyer, Age 36...

A guy named Steven E. Meyer, age 36, was killed Saturday at 43rd and Girard Ave. N., shot inside a vehicle. Media reports say he died at the hospital. In any case...

Residents immediately assumed this was some kind of drug deal gone bad.

It would have been nice if the media had printed Steven's middle name. As it is, public records name a Steven ERIC Meyer, who is the right age, and has a series of charges against him, as follows...

Based on the last two charges, the man appears to be a trucker. Also, while he had his issues, illegal drugs DID NOT appear to be one of those issues.

That is to say...

If this is the same Steven E. Meyer. The information is hot enough for blog purposes to demand publication, but I feel like printing a caveat that I would like one more "smoking gun" piece of information that this is the very same Steven E. Meyer, age 36, who was gunned down on Saturday at 43rd and Girard Ave. N.

Banana Blossom Gets New Windows After Tornado Beating, Appears To Be Re-Opening

Contributed photo, blog post by John Hoff

Banana Blossom, the delicious and affordable Hmong restaurant at 1724 Lowry Ave. N. which included lunch buffet specials and was a favorite of this blog, has been closed since getting pummeled by the North Minneapolis tornado. However, in the last week it appears the establishment has gotten new windows and appears ready to re-open.

This is good news! Somebody, give this blog word when the doors are open.

Cop And Thug Action At Emerson And Lowry (Revitalizers Make Drink Bets On Who Walks, Who Rides Downtown)

Contributed photos,  blog post by John Hoff

I'm told that Lowry Ave. N. and Emerson Ave. N. is the hottest place, lately, to get your 9-1-1 buzz as NoMi "Revitalizers" drive around, look for trouble, and call police. Hey, it's what we do.

A few days ago the citizen who contributed the above photos was in the Emerson/Lowry area, saw "four punks hanging around," and instantly called 9-1-1 to report "loitering at a known drug dealing location."

In a mere "three or four minutes" the citizen witnessed three squads swoop down from three different directions, cuff the punks while the punks spread 'em on the hoods and got frisked. Sadly, the citizen was in a rush doing something productive (i.e., not hanging around at a known drug corner) and wasn't able to see "who walked, and who took a ride."

Word is some "revitalizers" will actually make small wagers on how many detained punks get released and how many are hauled off. For example, "I will bet you a drink at Donny Dirk's Zombie Den the punk in the blue shirt gets to walk and the punk in the black hoodie gets cuffed and stuffed."

Sigh. Something to look forward to when I leave Afghanistan and return to my North Minneapolis neighborhood. 9-1-1 drinking games.

JNS BLOG "Permanent Public Forum Blog Post" Mission To Continue, Let Us Start With Level Three Sex Offender Richard Carpenter, 7/6/1951...

DOC mug shot, therefore in public domain, blog post by John Hoff

It was March, 2011, when I last wrote a "Permanent Public Forum" blog post on a North Minneapolis Level Three sex offender, intending to make sure neighborhood residents will always have a public place to comment on these pervs and the still-burning issue of Level Three sex offender concentration in the 55411 zip code.

Also, there is the goal of "aggregate useful data and feed the hungry google bots."

Away from my beloved North Minneapolis neighborhood, I find myself gravitating to a bloggy task that relies nothing on geographic proximity and everything on digging up information via the internet. By my count, eleven Level Three sex offenders need their own blog posts. Twelve already have "Permanent Public Forum posts, and a select few--Harold Clayton Lacy, Kirk Douglas Green and, of course, the notorious Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer have been the subject of blog posts where anybody could leave questions or info in the comments sections...therefore I see no need for a "forum" blog post to cover these guys.

Eleven Level Threes who have thus far escaped their own special little blog post will be seeing their pictures and whatever info I can dig up appear here in the next few days, weeks, months (however long it takes) with comment space reserved for those who wish to add more.

In addition, Tupac Toshiq Makavelli has a new mug shot and therefore will get his own special blog post, even though he has already been the subject of coverage on this blog, click here.

So, let us start with Richard Carpenter. Just what we need, huh? A sex offender with a not terribly distinctive name. He doesn't even have a MIDDLE name. Well, at least he's got a birthday...

Council Member Barb Johnson Writes Johnny Northside In Afghanistan...

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

I wrote quite a while back about how I was sending some "Afghan trinkets of nominal value" to Council Members Hofstede, Johnson and Samuels, who represent North Minneapolis. I also sent a handwritten letter (no handy printer, here at my FOB) to each council member lobbying on a certain North Minneapolis issue. Suffice to say my idea involves getting qualified buyers for vacant houses.

To my delight, I returned to my hooch a couple days ago and found a letter shoved over the crudely constructed plywood door. It was from Council President Barb Johnson and she wrote about being quite open to my idea. She was even going to speak to a few experts on the subject.

Johnson's letter--which I received only a couple days ago--was dated September 14.

Yes, a letter or care package sent to Afghanistan can take a long, long time.

But how delightful when it arrives.
