After this blog broke the news of a judicial referee recommending "disability inactive" status for attorney Jill Clark, (correctly speculating it must have been at Clark's request) the MinnLawyer blog wrote an article about Clark's status and provided further info, click here.
The article mentions how Clark has done some flip-flopping, first saying she's ill and unable to defend herself and then asserting she was "under treatment" and able to assist in her own defense. Clark's actual status this moment is therefore unclear though it's my speculation Clark is simply trying to have it both ways: she wants to put off her many clients and cases (click here for "roll call of the damned") and concentrate completely on defending herself in the disciplinary hearing.
In the meantime, a number of people have received the following email missive from Clark.
Attorney Jill Clark has had to go on a medical leave. Jill Clark, LLC is awaiting additional information about when Attorney Clark can return to work. We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have more information soon. Jill Clark, LLC and its clients would appreciate courts extending any upcoming deadlines. More information will be provided when available.
Jill Clark, LLC has copied courts and lawyers on this email.
Meanwhile, Jill Clark's blog, "Jill Clark Speaks," appear to be asserting its constitutional right to remain silent. Anybody interested in developments will have to tune in to Johnny Northside Dot Com.
