Anti-Police Crazy Dave Bicking Now Appealing Pro Se, Another Sign Attorney Jill Clark's Sad Little World Is Falling Apart, OH WAIT!!! That Would Be PART THIRTY-FOUR of The Madness Of Jill Clark!

Photo by John Hoff, Dave Bicking is the one with a beard, woman is to the left of Bicking is unknown to this blogger, Police Chief Dolan is visible in the foreground. Photo is from Dolan's confirmation proceedings.

Word reaches me that Dave Bicking, who sued former Civilian Review Authority Chair Donald Bellfield in a "fatally defective" lawsuit (click here for prior coverage, and also click here) is now proceeding pro se (as his own attorney) in the appeal.

The appeal at this point concerns attorney fees for the losing side which is, of course, NOT Donald Bellfield. The filing fees for this recent appeal were paid by a non-profit group associated with (alleged) police brutality issues in which Bicking is deeply involved; I do not have the exact name of the group as of this writing but will attempt to obtain it later. Bicking is involved with Communities United Against Police Brutality but I have not confirmed whether that is the group that paid the filing fee.

Admittedly, the PROBLEM here is when people call me first thing in the morning and spew information into my ear intertwined with a "scary dead cat that didn't actually exist in my doorway" story and then (when I didn't write any of this crap down) I have to ask myself, "Which (expletive) group was that paying the filing fee?"

Previously, Jill Clark was the attorney in this lawsuit so it's no surprise the lawsuit was "fatally defective" and no competent attorney (malpractice, cough cough) would have filed such a thing. Much more surprising is the fact that Clark...

...named Dave Bicking in her recent "Wisconsin filing" when she attempted to remove a number of cases to the Western District of Wisconsin's federal court, contrary to legal niceties like JURISDICTION.

But now I receive word Bicking is acting as his own attorney.

Right about now Clark must be asking, "Et tu, Dave Bicking?"

Bicking--an experienced community activist who should have been old enough and wise enough to know better--is one of a number of Clark clients who were led down the primrose path of loony litigation but now find themselves facing stiff fees for filing wrongheaded lawsuits that 999 out of 1000 practicing attorneys would have advised against; at least as far as the lawsuits were phrased and as far as the thin facts that were cited. Clark created an imaginary world where victory in these far-fetched lawsuits sounded possible and, like the Pied Piper of Hamlin, her clients followed her like deluded children. This overgrown man-child, Dave Bicking, was practically leading the parade right on Clark's shins, whirling and dancing to Clark's tune, quite a metaphorical sight it was due to his large girth and severe bearded visage, see photo above.

In rating a number of Clark clients who look like possibilities to file malpractice claims against Clark, Bicking was not previously looked at as a possibility by this blog. Now, in light of what appears the beginning of a break with Clark, this blog rates Bicking as one possible horse in the malpractice race.

I did a little digging recently and found an article that advised any attorney in Minnesota with a "full time practice" to carry ONE MILLION DOLLARS worth of "single claim" coverage.

Obviously, a million dollars falling into the hands of one of Clark's loony ex-clients could be quite a game-changing event in city politics, depending on the client. The wisest course of action would be to take all that money and move to a tropical country where you could live like a king off the interest and recover from your psychological wounds in pounding surf and perfumed island breezes. Unfortunately, "wise" is not the first word you think of when talking about a Clark client.

Actually, it's not ANY of the words associated with a Clark client.

What are some words that come to mind? Well, looking at Dave Bicking I'd have to go with "anti-police crazy," using crazy as a noun, not an adjective. The damn shame in all this is that Dave Bicking is actually a sincere and committed activist who has done some good things or, at least, things that helped his side in certain political struggles; things that showed a lot of guts and a lot of heart. But his failed association with Jill Clark squanders years of any credibility this man had and, actually, it's one of the reasons I recently quit the Green Party after being a member since about 2005.

Here is video I shot of Bicking in action a couple years ago.

The woman is Janet Nye, Bicking girlfriend and notorious council chambers cuser.

Isn't this the guy who hassles the cops when they perform court duties like evictions? I think he hangs with the Occupy people protesting cops and foreclosures.

Janet Nye, you say?

There was some pretty heated cussing yesterday in council chambers. A woman yelled FUCK YOU at the council. Could it have been the LEGENDARY city council chambers cusser?

Legend has it that during particularly contentious hearings, her voice suddenly manifests spewing forth expletives.

That was her. You shouldn't cook her a turkey.

From the STRIB:

One speaker at Wednesday's meeting urged the council to adopt the plan. John Hoff, who writes the Johnny Northside blog, called it "a good overhaul." "I come as a resident who says thank God for police," he said.

I am rejecting a troll comment, however, I will state that the song lyric I quoted at the hearing (from a song I did for YouTube called BALL CHOPPING AXES) goes like this.

When I was young I thought cops were jerky

Now on Thanksgiving, I cook 'em a turkey.

Get out your Black's and learn the difference between Jurisdiction and Venue.

Get out your map of the different federal court circuits and learn the difference between 8th and 7th circuit.

Also, get out your old elementary school English books and brush up on capitalization.

That wasn't a troll comment.

It was an opportunity to show how you use to think cops were jerky and now you cook them a turkey.

Used to. It's actually "used to" not "use to."

Note that it's a past tense because it's in the past.
