As Death Of 4-Month-Old Baby Girl "Egypt Bell" Is Investigated, Citizen "Google Detectives" Are Unearthing Troubling Facts Not Published By Mainstream Media...

Another Dead Baby In North Minneapolis

Mainstream media such as Fox 9 are reporting troubling information about the death of 4-month-old Egypt Bell, whose mother is identified by family members as "Shalynda Raino."

Name Is The Same

A person named Shalynda Raino is pictured above in a mugshot from Fulton County, Georgia, and it's an extraordinarily uncommon name, AND there is troubling overlap in criminal charges faced by a "Shalynda Raino" locally in North Minneapolis ("domestic violence") and the person with that name who faced "family violence" and "cruelty to children" charges in Fulton County, Georgia.

Click here for a link to that Georgia info.

Earl Lee Malone, 18-Year-Old Victim In Rare Northside "Justified Homicide," Had Been Arrested And Released On A Robbery Charge Last Month...

Image obviously taken from social media, published by WCCO with the
words "Credit: CBS," so CBS please consider yourself credited, blog post
by John Hoff

Earl Lee Malone, 18, (pictured above) was killed on the Northside by a guy named Kelvin Richardson, 21, in what authorities either believe was a justified homicide or can't prove it WASN'T.

Click here for yesterday's JNS blog article, with addendum, on this incident.

Richardson reportedly told authorities Malone was trying to rob him. JNS blog believes when one person kills another, even when it may be justified, the public has an interest in examining the facts in a transparent way.

Yes, already the God-I-Love-My-Guns crowd is giving me heck about publishing Richardson's name off the jail roster, a public document easily located online. Most of the time the "God and guns crowd" just loves-loves-loves my Northside crime reporting, but just let me publish the name of a triggerman in a justified homicide, and their fickle "red state love" goes south like a Canada goose...

The homicide happened on the Northside but involved two young people who weren't FROM the our neighborhood, at least not from our neighborhood at the moment the incident happened.

Earl Lee Malone was...

Kelvin Dvon Richardson Arrested Today, Suspected Of Murder, YOU READ IT FIRST ON JOHNNY NORTHSIDE...(ADDENDUM, SEPT 23, RELEASED WITHOUT CHARGES ON BASIS OF SELF-DEFENSE AND PERMIT FOR WEAPON!!!)

Creative stock photo, somewhere in Afghanistan, blog post by John Hoff

(FAIR AND SQUARE ADDENDUM, Sept 23. Richardson, 21, was released without being charged due to self-defense and having a valid permit to carry a weapon.

Richardson apparently believed he was being robbed by the man Richardson shot dead, one Earl Lee Malone, 18. Even so, the shooting death of a citizen at the hands of another citizen on a public street is and should be a matter of public record. Watch for an editorial on this topic in the near future here on JNS blog.

If regular media will not give citizens the information they need and want, grassroots media will certainly step into the gap)

The Star Tribune reported today on two murders that took place eight hours apart. There was an arrest in one of the murders, but the STrib reported "the identities of the victim and the suspect have yet to be released. The man arrested is 21 years old and from Minneapolis."

JNS blog thinks the words "have yet to be released" are some kind of euphemism for "it is my coffee break and I do not feel like looking through fifty names on the jail roster of people arrested today, trying to find the one arrested with murder." Ironic how the media who are paid the least are willing to work the hardest or, in other words...

Murder, I Wrote (Well, Attempted Murder)

It was back in July when I wrote about Trae Patterson (pictured above) and a guy who turned out to be his brother, Tyrel Lamar Patterson, sitting next to each other on the jail roster. Back in July the murders were coming so fast I couldn't catch up. I was actually looking for a jail booking for a RECENT murder when I came upon charges against the Patterson brothers stemming from an incident in April.

Well, despite two more fatal North Minneapolis shootings eight hours apart, click here and word of yet another shooting (unknown if it was fatal) a block from my house at 22nd and Aldrich Ave. N., I am actually catching up a little...

Ceasefire In The NoMi Blog Wars Turns Into An Online Love Fest As Don Allen Of IBNN Publishes Guest Piece By Johnny Northside About A Lynching That Happened 132 Years Ago This Autumn, In Grand Forks, North Dakota...

Stock photo, historic cemetery, blog post by
John Hoff

One hundred and thirty-two years ago this October, a black man was dragged out of jail and lynched by a mob in Grand Forks North Dakota. The man, Charles Thurber, was accused of a horrible crime by two women, one of whom reportedly recanted her story. Thurber died without the benefit of a trial to attempt to clear his name.

No historic "truth and reconciliation" commission has ever been convened to examine the sordid facts of the Charles Thurber case. And no historic marker exists to acknowledge...

See below for reasons why I am using a photo of the victim instead of the alleged murderer, Trevante Williams. But in regard to the criminal complaint linked above...

It is the belief of this blogger that media should provide source documentation with their stories, so the public can decide and review facts for themselves. Plus those with a particular need for the original documents can...

Wanted In The Killing Of A Man Called "Skooby"

Pictured above, murder victim Jaylin Davis, a/k/a "Skooby Straightdrop." JNS blog does not yet have an image of accused killer Trevante Williams to illustrate this blog post or I would certainly be using such an image.

Mass media such as Star Tribune and KSTP are now reporting on murder charges against Trevante Williams in the June shooting death of Jaylin Davis.

Though Davis was a resident of Brooklyn Center, he was killed at a house party in North Minneapolis. Likewise, Williams is not a resident of North Minneapolis either, but is also from Brooklyn Center. Despite the fact Williams is from Brooklyn Center, the Star Tribune ran a headline about a "Minneapolis man" being charged in the crime...

Former "NoMi Blog Wars" Combatants Find Common Ground As Don Allen Of IBNN Republishes JNS Blog Article About Badly Paid AmeriCorps Tutors Who Should Be Filling Slots In North Minneapolis School System..

Creative stock photo by John Hoff, Soviet medal for sale in
Afghanistan, blog post by John Hoff

"Two voices can speak more loudly than one," I said to Don Allen, my former blogging foe who is now participating with me in a "NoMi blog wars cease fire."

Don Allen is, like me, a devoted father and has concerns about quality school systems for our children. After I wrote an article about badly paid AmeriCorps tutors who are supposed to be filling slots in the North Minneapolis school system, I thought to myself that Don Allen might agree with the article and, furthermore...

E & L Food Mart Has Been Reborn And The Result Does NOT Appear To Be A Neighborhood "Inconvenience Store"

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

When E & L Food Mart burned down, some of my neighbors and regular readers took a hard line which could be summarized as follows:

Good riddance and I hope it never comes back.

Well, E & L is back, now known as E & L Supermarket and Deli, and after a spontaneous late night visit to the business I am both surprised and pleased to report...

What Alleged Acts Are Required For A Million Dollars Bail In Hennepin County? Not That Much, As It Turns Out, You Can Pull It Off With TWO ROCKS!!! (Allegedly!)

Winning Or Is It Losing The Bail Lottery?

When I saw a MILLION DOLLARS BAIL for Jamar Maurice Clavon on the Hennepin County Jail roster some months back, I wondered what sort of wild and colorful crimes he might be accused of committing and, truthfully, given the high amount of bail I pictured something involving hand grenades.

Turns out he was armed with...TWO ROCKS. Allegedly.

And the mere verbal threat of a...

Some days ago I was visiting a relative in rural Minnesota and I set my keys down on the kitchen table.

Yes, I know better than to set those keys down where the baby can grab them, because the baby loves to grab the keys and toddle off with them...

JNS Blog Acknowledges That Don Allen Of IBNN Is Trying To Get To The Bottom Of The Death Of Major Topps...

Social media image of Don Allen, used under First Amendment Fair Comment and

For a couple of years, this blog has more or less razzed IBNN blogger Don Allen about not getting to the bottom of the story about the mysterious death of Major Topps, as Allen had publicly promised.

Now with "ceasefire breaking out all over" in the North Minneapolis blog wars, this blogger wishes to acknowledge that Allen recently...

From The Twin Cities To Syria

The Washington Post, as well as pretty much all the mainstream media in the world, are reporting on the death of Douglas McArthur McCain...an American who died fighting for ISIS in Syria.

Click here for Washington Post Article.

McCain spent a good part of his life in the Twin Cities metro area and as soon as I read in the Washington Post how McCain had a minor criminal record in Minnesota I thought, geez, I could totally look up his record on MNCIS...
