I don't know if I'd recommend it all that often unless you are certain you will not be spotted. Unlike Johnny! They're a great bunch of guys and gals who more often than not empathize with us. Plus, it's a great way to meet them and let them see the good neighbors who are around. I've even helped them look for shell casings and have rode around in their squads before.

Also, I would say it's not crying wolf. Like I said, do not settle in the fact that it is normal behavior. I call 911 or the 4th on what I consider to be abnormal. And that's anything from; people passing packets and cash (in cars or on foot), shots fired, burglaries in progress, fights in the middle of the street, etc. I also call our SAFE officer when there are other issues. 311 is good for; loose dogs, dilapidated vehicles, over flowing trash, etc.

However, even though the 4th officers claim that they do crack down on loud car stereo and after market pipes, I've been calling more on those as well.

It looks as though we're already probably going to be getting less service anyways. So, another suggestion would be; buy a few more boxes of rounds and sit back and have a beer on your stoop. Is that better?Folwell Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14095306726028993319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143409168229764050.post-69032564696888275892010-12-18T16:34:22.883-06:002010-12-18T16:34:22.883-06:00Folwell Fox, I like your idea but I wonder if call...Folwell Fox, I like your idea but I wonder if calling 311 and 911 each day will cause us to get less service for crying wolf. Google Adsense on the other hand will stay as those always work to some extent and thus will be worth keeping around. You should perhaps consider taking ads from trolls and slumlords as well to further monetize this blog.Ad Masternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143409168229764050.post-64521741884665084352010-12-17T22:51:04.601-06:002010-12-17T22:51:04.601-06:00More ads you say? Granted its family first; however when the current principle of North High rents an apartment to known drug dealers, which then rents a barber shop to those same individuals across from the Minneapolis 4th precinct thugs are able to commit crimes base on culpable partners. Don't wait for shots to be fired.

In fact, I'll go even further: if you live in North Minneapolis and a single day goes by that you don't call 911, call 311, or in some way communicate via the internet about a neighborhood issue, then you just aren't pulling your weight."

No doubt, and never settle in the fact that it's "normal" either.
