One of my readers recently sent me a document that apparently circulated in the Fifth Precinct as a flier.
The flier appears (to me) to be some kind of hoax aimed members of the criminal underclass, asking for help "training" police by showing up intoxicated at police headquarters. To check out the flier--which is both outrageous and outrageously funny--go to this link:

ADDENDUM March 28: See comments. Incredible as it may seem, we're being told this is NOT A HOAX and prizes include "McDonald's coupons."

Is "Soap-on-a-Rope" one of the prizes?
Don Marose does appear to be a legitimate MN State Patrol contact (http://www.admin.state.mn.us/risk/Conference/Speakers/marose.html), but I'd be surprised if the "incentive" is for something other than court-mandated rehab. The wording on this point seems a little deliberately . . . vague.
Increcible! We called Don Marose of the State Patrol, didn't get him, but spoke to somebody named "Jordan" at the front desk. We were told it was "real" and they will give "McDonald's coupons" or other prizes!
John, I think you should participate. It's your civic duty. I'll be your D.D.
Maybe they'll even let us video it
:-)
Maybe Merwin's will even throw in some free booze. LoLz.
If Don Allen pays off your bet with McDonald's coupons, now you'll know where they came from.
I'm sure the coupons would expire before I ever got paid off upon any bets that might get made with Don Allen.
