Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. Level 3 Sex Offender's Home Boarded Up...
Photos By John Hoff
Peter Rickmyer, a.k.a. Peter Richard Stephenson, is a Level 3 sex offender whose freedom was recently revoked, as this blog exclusively reported with video of the arrest, click here.
Now there's been a new development...
Peter's house has been boarded up, another sure sign Peter will come back no time soon. The boards do not appear to be "official" boards, but are apparently some private effort to secure the property. Rickmyer is listed as both owner and taxpayer of the property, as of today.
There is one minor downside to seeing Peter's dangerously-deviant butt locked up in jail: Rickmyer was reportedly very dedicated to picking up litter, apparently imitating the mannerisms of productive, law-abiding citizens. Now litter is taking over Peter's street and is making inroads to Peter's yard, which needs mowing.
Last summer, I watched daily as Peter R. single handedly cleared years of over grown brush from around the Penn Ave/25th/26th avenue corridors. I'd leave for work and there he was, I'd come home and there he was in a different spot, slaving away.
ReplyDeleteI wish the best for Peter R. (and his community around him!)
ewww. i've often ridden my bike past Penn Ave. and 25th street. all i can say is, i'm glad i'm not a CHILD.
ReplyDeleteApparently Pete is back. On my way to Post Office around 7 AM, saw Pete standing in front of his house (boards are gone) talking to a police officer. (Friday, 8-14)
