Word comes that the property I used to own at 3016 6th St. N. was demolished today by a backhoe, and I wasn't even there to see the end of the little house that served me so well, sacrificed for the greater good of the Eco Village cluster project.
Hawthorne Housing Director Jeff Skrenes reportedly got some pictures, maybe even video, so I'll get that stuff up when I can. These are pictures I took some days ago, when the backhoe was just parked for days on end. It appears a tree in my (former) back yard was slightly damaged during the digging out of utilities, but I'm sure the tree will heal.
In the meantime, here's a little tribute to my old house, and the history it witnessed.

photos are coming your way as soon as I finish housing minutes and motion paperwork for the upcoming board meeting.
ReplyDeleteso much for the eco village, it looks like you and your crew are screwing up old growth trees in the mean while!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of deal was rubbed onto your hand when you sold your house back to the city?
