JNS Pdf Support Site Offered as Service to NoMi!

In the picture above, John and Alex Hoff, Connie Nompelis, Diane and Tony Hofstede, and I (Jeff Skrenes, aka the Hawthorne Hawkman) are enjoying one of many NoMi summer barbecues. This is just one of many ways that we build community in Hawthorne.

Earlier today, John and I came up with another way to help spread information and build up our community throughout Hawthorne and NoMi: the JNS pdf support site. That site got its start way back in 2009 when...

...John was given a copy of the complaint against Larry "Maximum" Maxwell. He had no way to make the document widely available without retyping it by hand. Rather than having him type out 19 pages of rather dense material, I called my old college roommate, who is a whiz when it comes to this sort of thing. He helped us set up the JNS pdf support site, and a vital part of the Johnny Northside blog was born.

Today, at Hawthorne, I faced a similar need to disseminate information. Hawthorne is offering a groundbreaking community energy services program. The Hawthorne Voices blog does not have its own pdf support site (yet), so I asked John if I could use his. Of course he agreed.

Then it dawned on us: How many other NoMi blogs out there have documents that need to be shared via pdf? So here's the deal. If you're blogging about NoMi issues and need a pdf link, email me at jeff.exyooper@gmail.com or John at hoffjohnw@gmail.com with that pdf attachment. We'll do what we can to create that pdf link quickly and email it back to you for your blog. A reminder is necessary however: the JNS pdf support site is run by Johnny Northside and therefore this blog does reserve the right to decline this service at its discretion.

Hopefully, however, the need for sharing information this way becomes a frequently used service. If that's the case, we'll be happy to hold a training session so that other bloggers can create their own pdf support sites. Let's see how this service works out for NoMi!
