After printing the criminal record of Drew Heinkel--the guy who was stabbed to death by Michael K. Queen--this blog promised to also print the criminal record of Mr. Queen. Delays in fulfilling this promise included a trucking trip to Ohio, but the time has come (the walrus said) to talk of many things:
Sailing ships, and sealing wax, cabbages and...the criminal record of Michael K. Queen.
Personally, I'd be very interested to see more details about his theft conviction where there was a furlough for treatment and "anger management." Who, I wonder, is the victim here? Is it Drew Heinkel who died? Is it Michael Queen, who may have been involved in a justified homicide? One thing is for sure...
...both of these guys can't be victims. And though a high-ranking police official says this is looking like a justified homicide (click here for details) that's not confirmed. So, presented here for thoughtful examination is the criminal record of Michael K. Queen.

The record would tend to show that neither Heinkel nor Queen were particularly upstanding members of society.
When I see the disposition of each of these cases, lined up one after another, knowing there are thousands more in NoMi like this, I wonder how our officers can keep showing up day after day, doing the job they do. GBT4P.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed disheartening to see the "revolving door" of the criminal justice system in action, especially when this particular guy was left free to roam the streets over and over.
ReplyDeleteMakes me sick to my stomach. I bet the time it takes to stop the car, write the tag, write the report for two cops in a city outfit squad... well, I think the city is losing money on the deal.
ReplyDelete-just a cop
THEY do what they DO because THEY know the 'system' is a bunch of BS. They have it WIRED and know they'll WALK every time.
ReplyDeleteMONTANA
This country incarcerates a greater percentage of its citizens than the Nazis or Russians under Stalin did. We have a lot of problems, but not locking up enough people is not one of them. The cops have enough time to dress up as homeless people and try to bust people for driving without a seatbelt. We have too many cops and laws, we don't need more.
ReplyDeleteHeck, MN can't afford to keep the people we do have in jail.
Oh, I've heard that before about greater percentage...Nazis, Stalin, blah blah...but I've never seen any relevant source actually say it. Kindly link to some creditable proof the statement is true. I say this country lets people out sooner after being convicted of violent crimes than any other first world industrialized country. Prove I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteHere. Read this link on the Straight Dope. When you compare the U.S. to Russia under Stalin and Nazi Germany, you're just wrong.

I'm also not aware of any incident in Minneapolis where the cops "dress up as homeless people" and try to bust people for driving without a seatbelt. That's just stupid.
John,
ReplyDeleteAccording to your source we're all competing for the title, but the present day US isn't the clear cut winner. I'll concede that point, but I persist in my opinion that our problems in this country do not result from not locking enough people up.
And you're right MPLS cops don't dress up as homeless people, it was the Maplewood and N. St. Paul cops, but I think this is still fairly decent proof that we are turning into more and more of a police state. I certainly agree with you that this police activity is "stupid".

What would the John Hoff who kept an eye on police brutality in Seatle think of the police apologist John Hoff that is around today?
Any updates on this case?
ReplyDeleteI would love to get PDF files of this guy's court cases and post all that stuff, however, I just don't have time to chase it. Anybody who would be willing to assist can contact me by email.
