Oh No, A Pamiko Rail In The Garbage. What Has The World Come To?

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

Some days ago, I was hanging around in the Jordan Neighborhood when somebody noted the infamous and crappily distinctive "Pamiko rail" in front of a slummy Paul Koenig property had been damaged, completely knocked off its base. Given how cheap the rail was in the first place, this could have happened by, for example, a small child running into it with a tricycle. (Joke font)

There wasn't much which could be done except to pick up the trashy remnants of the rail and toss it in the garbage, rather than leaving it there on the sidewalk.

On a related but much wider topic...

JNS blog wonders aloud when and if some kind of legal action will be taken in regard to Paul Koenig, the "one man housing crisis." Consider, if you will, Minnwest Bank. Did Minnwest Bank lose money here? Are they a victim of this failed scheme? Or is Minnwest Bank deserving of a long, sustained bloggy criticism for their association with Paul Koenig and NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BAD ACTOR?

All I know is that Koenig shouldn't be allowed to get away with the path of destruction he left in North Minneapolis, but I have yet to hear about any sort of legal action moving forward.

  1. Maybe that is because there is nothing illegal to find despite your wants and desires.

  2. Or maybe there's so much damn real-estate related crime in North Minneapolis that prosecutors and banks don't have the resources to get a handle on it and, as bad as Paul Koenig is, there are worse actors out there.

  3. But I'd be hard pressed to name three.
