JNS Blog Digs Up Further Info About Thomas "Chatline Rapist" Evenstad, Who May Be Held In A Mental Facility After All...

One week ago, I had word that Tom Evenstad, the "chatline rapist" now charged with new and shocking crimes, was NOT being held in Regions Hospital. At least one informed source I spoke to was under the impression Evenstad was no longer committed and would be returning to the Ramsey County Jail.

The information Evenstad was no longer at Regions was good. But it turns out that fact did NOT actually end the mental commitment.

The latest word I'm hearing right now from a different source is...

...the only reason Tom's not at Regions Hospital most likely involves space issues. He's still very much committed by the mental health branch of the court system and the facility Tom's most likely to be sent to is...

Wait for it.

Wait for it.

ST. PETER'S!!!!

The official title of this hospital is Minnesota Security Hospital, though when opened in 1911 it was known as The Asylum for the Dangerous Insane. (JNS blog dramatically cocks its eyebrow and my 1890's monocle falls right out!)

Personally, I liked the old name.

JNS blog hears Tom may have briefly bounced back to Ramsey County Jail but a search a few moments ago of the current inmates does not reveal his name there. St. Peter might already be welcoming Tom, and I don't mean Tom's about to walk through the Pearly Gates.

No. Not at all.

  1. The blog posts combined with personal visits may not have been well received by the power structure. Combined with his criminal history, this might have been enough to buy a ticket to a very secure facility.

  3. The serial rapist who stalks and threatens all his victims is in court again today in Ramsey County. The County Prosecutors are asking for 20 years probation, with enforcement of mental health medication, random drug testing, gps ankle monitoring, internet restrictions and so forth....no contact with victims.. blah, blah, blah.

    They will be releasing him.
    And I will be waiting.
