Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. Contessa The Prostitute Is "Up To Her Old Tricks" At 3020 6th St. N.
Since Contessa's landlord personally told me he threw Contessa out of 3020 6th St. N. because of the charges against her (plus she didn't have a lease, he said) life has become a whole new ballgame as far as Contessa's activities on 6th Street North.
Bottom line: if I see Contessa-With-Charges-Against-Her hanging around 3020 6th St. N., where her landlord threw her out, then that's an automatic call to 911. It is especially an automatic call to 911 when Contessa's bringing people there, then hanging outside for several minutes to wait for them--but not allowed, herself, to go inside. I mean, COME ON. Could she be more obvious about arranging a drug transaction? If she wanted to just sit inside and get high, herself, that would be one thing...but she is bringing customers over.
We wait for this place to finally get shut down. We wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait for some kind of word the police have at long last raided 3020 6th St. N. and found the crack we see getting dealt pretty much daily, if not hourly. (More pictures of that exist and might find their way here, soon enough) Nothing comes easy in the eco-village, not even a feeling of safety in walking from one's front door to one's minivan with baby booster seats.
Yet we are not weak and we don't have to keep turning away and quietly enduring while crack heads and prostitutes turn our neighborhood to (expletive). The internet makes us strong. (Dirt cheap and easy digital photography has helped quite a bit, too)
