Punker Versus Debutante In Dinkytown, Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood
The Minneapolis Police Department was kind enough to provide me the report for that "punker punches debutante" incident in Dinkytown, Marcy-Holmes neighborhood...
It wasn't as informative or detailed as I had hoped, but one can't help but admire a police officer's ability to get right to the point.
Here's what the document said. Here's ALL of what it said:
"Officers drove upon an [sic] fight in progress. One female victim was found bleeding from the nose. Female victim refused ambulance and stated that she wished to seek medical care on her own before she decided if she wanted to press charges. The suspect that was detained was released from the scene."
To this I respond: You silly and naive person, you. Do you really think if you decide to press charges anybody will be able to locate these people, who were last seen begging at the I-35W off-ramp for money to get to Seattle?
Heavy sigh. The photo above is the window right in front of where the fight took place. In 1970, it was the scene of another interesting confrontation...what I call "The Battle of Dinkytown."
