Anti-Johnny Blog Shows Red/Blue Colorblindness

He's my buddy, your buddy, and Peter Teachout, Jr.'s buddy! He's Mayor R.T. Rybak, and this guy bleeds democratic blue instead of republican red, baby! Why is this important?

Well, I made a point of grabbing some text off the blog of the Anti-Johnny before he gets wise and deletes it. In an attempt to find some contradiction in my politics, Anti-Johnny makes a claim that "my new buddy" Mayor R.T. Rybak is REPUBLICAN. Here is the spurious and (I suspect) soon-to-be-deleted or greatly modified post in question:

The past five or six posts on Johnny Northside's blog have displayed more of the Johnny Northside (John Hoff) I know.

It is sort of entertaining to see who or which group Johnny blames something else on.

-Mortgage meltdown? Republicans

-Sad state our nation is in? George Bush or the Republicans

Wait! Oh this is great! IF the Republicans are at fault for the current conditions in North Minneapolis, then it also means that Johnny is gaining his fame (if it can be called that) and profiting because of... The Republicans!

It was only a few weeks ago that Johnny was bragging about his new pal, Mayor R.T. Rybak.

The Mayor is a, uh umm uh, a REPUBLICAN!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me, again. Sorry to burst your bubble, Anti-Johnny (or should I call you by your real first name?) but Mayor Rybak isn't a Republican. Them's libelous fighting words 'round these parts, mister, at least if you could make anybody believe 'em. In fact, R.T. Rybak co-chaired the state DNC delegation in Denver and he's the statewide co-chair for Obama's presidential bid.

Read all about it in this article from Minnesota Public Radio's website, which takes less than fifteen seconds to locate and prove you wrong.

You are nine kinds of dummy, Anti-Johnny. Maybe it's because you're someplace like Texas and not following Minneapolis politics too closely since you moved out of the state and swore you hated this place, hmmmmmmmm? In fact, our city leaders are all democrats with the exception of one Green Party member, Cam Gordon.

  1. Okay, okay, we get it: this guy's a doorknob. And not very bright.

Your recent discovery is proof enough that it's a waste of your time to pursue his "efforts."

    Moving on, now...

  2. Wow. He can't even get the most basic of facts straight. I had been reading his lame blog for sheer amusement--I previously found his ignorance and stupidity (and lack of anything better to beyotch about) funny... but now it's really just sad.

Keep rockin the northside and stickin it to the Repubs.

  3. If you think that is sad...well, I'm actually holding back out of mercy (and prioritization) from giving the lowdown on Jim Watkins' so-called expertise as a real estate "mentor"...who recently had a business deal go really, really south.

    Like...South Pole south.

But that's OK. Jim Watkins can now spin himself as a "foreclosure expert."

And, yes, it is confirmed Jim Watkins--an associate and friend of Thomas Balko, one of the principals of T.J. Waconia--is the guy behind the "Anti-Johnny" blog.

I guess he had obvious reasons for wanting to be s*** bird anonymous, given how he is associated with T.J. (Expletive) Waconia, voted No. 1 Civic Villains in the Twin Cities.

(Though I've always thought that particular dishonor should go to Universal Mortgage)

Yeah, Jim's mad. I criticized his best buddy; Thomas Balko of the infamous T.J. Waconia outfit.

As outlined long ago: Johnny Northside was "born" on a hot chat thread about T.J. Waconia on www.behindthemortgage.com.

So when I have to go back and revisit this old crap at length, it's kind of like when Superman drops everything because of rumors of an interesting artifact from the planet Krypton. People are all, like, "No, Superman, don't get distracted by that stuff..."

And he's all, like, "But you don't understand...this is who I am. This is where I come from."

All the same...I continue to advocate my "let the punishment fit the crime" idea for T.J. Waconia. They should live in North Minneapolis and help the neighborhood instead of wasting their time and energy in a federal pen.

And I've told Jim Watkins that I'd be glad to "do lunch" with him, if he gets up here to visit his T.J. Waconia buddy. A hot email exchange goes on at this moment, with colorful metaphors thrown back and forth.

I love the blogosphere, as a gorilla loves the lush jungles of the Congo. But, man, it gets muddy here sometimes.

  4. Per my policy of ACKNOWLEDGING comments I refuse to post: I have refused to post a comment which was nothing but carping, and probably just Jim Watkins trying to comment as somebody "anonymous" so he can throw metaphorical monkey poo.

  5. Per my usual policy: two expletive-laced comments with carping pseudo-literary criticism rejected, one denying it was written by Jim Watkins; who is quite notable for being a prolific writer of articles about real estate but never mastering the use of words requiring an apostrophe.

Of course, who would even CARE about this particular post--now buried far beneath a gah-jillion "RNC 2008" posts--but the aforementioned Jim Watkins who got his start in real estate flipping by snatching up a rat-infested house still occupied by an impoverished family?

It's no wonder he's "best friends" with folks like Thomas Balko of the infamous T.J. Waconia.
