RNC 2008: (Minor) Mayhem In The Streets ("Funk The War")
In reading Fox news coverage about the direct, confrontational protests and political actions which have taken place in neighborhoods around XCel Energy Center, I read about one individual from "Funk The War" who had a yellow "Don't Tread On Me" flag and...
It's quite possible this is that individual, pictured here on the steps of the State Capitol Building before the big march commenced. (He's the person to the right, now the person with the Mohawk) However, at the time I took this picture, he appeared to be hanging with a group called "Nomadical Radicals." More on that group in future postings, hopefully tomorrow.
The protest tactics of the anarchist groups haven't changed much since The Battle of Seattle. First, you get in with the large, permitted protest. You march downtown. Then, at some point, you split off, go into places off the main protest route, and take whatever actions you plan to take. When the police chase you and shoot gas/rubber bullets at you, it is possible to dash back and disappear into the massive crowd of protesters, dumping identifying items like black bandannas.
