"Commander Tough Glove" of the 4th Precinct kindly sent me an email to...
...alert me that 2400 Dupont Ave. N. is scheduled to be demolished two days from now, on Monday afternoon, and this is apparently the largest apartment building to be demolished in this round of property tear-downs. Yes, 3119 4th St. N. was big, but this one is bigger.
When the building was occupied, according to "Tough Glove," it was "a real pain."
Revitalization progress is busting out all over, and a few days ago came news of a deal struck with major lenders for foreclosures to be bought "in bulk" for neighborhood revitalization efforts: fix 'em up or tear 'em down.
Change is obviously in the air. NOW IS THE TIME to buy into North Minneapolis.
Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. I am here to be near my child. From 02/08 to 06/15 this blog pushed free speech to the envelope, so others could take heart and speak unafraid. Email me at hoffjohnw@gmail.com

Well... as long as it's just that place. The rest of Dupont around there (plus south, in Old Highland) is near-entirely FABULOUS.
And I hear tell that some happy chickens call the 22XX block of that avenue home - and then there are the fruit tree rumors.... Word on the street is that there's some serious homesteading going on in the vicinity.
And that's a good thing.
Hawthorne is full of amazing characters.

Finally a demo ranty can get behind! As for chickens, you guys in Hawthorne really are ghetto. In Willard Hay, we got Turkeys!
