Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. Images Of Last Night's "Board Battle" In The Jordan Neighborhood
Photos By John Hoff
These are images of last night's "board battle" in the Jordan Neighborhood, described in detail in this post, click here.
From top to bottom: The man in the green "NFL Northside For Life" shirt is Steve Jackson, the Sergeant-At-Arms.
The woman in lavender, with short gray hair, is Anne McCandless. (Now JACC Board Secretary) Kip Browne (now JACC Board Chair) is to the left of McCandless, in a dark suit, wearing glasses. The photo of the man standing at a door shows the husband of embattled (former) Chair E.B. Browne. He stood in the door during the entire closed executive session, never taking his eyes off his wife. He said, "They are trying to take advantage of her because she is new."
In the second-to-last photo, McCandless can be seen holding a copy of "Grievance #1."
In the last photo, JACC Executive Director Jerry Moore sits by himself, watching the procedings. At that moment, he seemed to be about the loneliest guy on earth. I was trying to capture that aspect in my photo.
