Word comes from a reliable source that...
Jerry Moore, who is the acting executive director for the "Old Majority" Jordan Neighborhood faction, but viewed as the fired former executive director for the "New Majority" faction, attempted to have utilities shut off at 2009 James Ave. N., which is the JACC HQ where the "New Majority" has taken control behind changed locks, while the "Old Majority" holes up at Jordan New Life Church.
My source reports internet was successfully disconnected, but not electric and gas. Unknown about the phone, which is sometimes part of internet service.
Also, word is Jerry Moore has written out at least one check for $1,500 since being fired by the "New Majority" (and told to keep doing his job by the "Old Majority.") My source reports, however, the bank is "finally waking up" to the need to freeze the accounts.
My source adds the following editorial remark: "Classy."
This blog remains committed to printing the communications of both sides in this conflict. The communications simply need to be forwarded by email.
If this is true, it has to be among the most irresponsible acts to date from the "old majority." It's one thing to steal computers, files, etc. That could be seen as one side simply doing what they need to in order to preserve the "integrity" of the organization.
ReplyDeleteBut what if they had been successful in shutting off gas and electricity? Colder weather is on its way back to us. I assume they would not have taken steps to properly winterize the house, meaning another cold snap could have turned the place into yet another property in north Minneapolis in need of tens of thousands of dollars in repairs.
Say what you will about the politics of the situation, but the organization has a state-of-the-art building (well, once you put back the computers) that is a true asset to the Jordan neighborhood and the community at large. To put it at risk in this way is unacceptable and outrageous.
I know the following statement could be misconstrued but these actions infuriate me to the point where I just don't care if anyone wants to take it out of context. Have you ever seen a monkey get what he wants by throwing his shit at someone? Because that's what this is turning into. Come on now people! There's a right and a wrong way to disagree and you've blatantly crossed that line with such actions.
