JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: Summons Arrives For Jerry Moore At JACC Office

Flickr.com Photo

I just received word from a reliable source saying a summons arrived at the JACC office at 2009 James Ave. N., intended for former JACC Executive Director Jerry Moore, (still recognized as JACC Executive Director by the "Old Majority" faction) and...

...summoning Moore to appear at a legal hearing concerning the Larry Maxwell criminal investigation, click here for recent info about that.

At the same time, the Hennepin County Attorney's office attempted to deliver a registered letter for Moore to the same office. Members of the "New Majority" reportedly called the Hennepin County Attorney's Office to give information about where Moore could be found; at his home address or the Jordan New Life Church.

I said it was "too quiet," didn't I?

THAT didn't last long.

  1. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, Maxwell is apparently also involved with the Statens, another couple of folks who wake up every morning looking for new ways to siphon funds away from Northside residents.

"Edwards-Staten was an unsuccessful candidate for county commissioner in 1996. She resigned from a state supervisory position the following year after being suspended during an investigation into whether she had done anything improper in awarding a $50,000 contract to a nonprofit group run by her then-husband, former legislator Randolph W. Staten."

Staten was soon tripping up all over the place. He faced criminal charges for writing eighty-two hundred dollars’ worth of bad checks to finance a drug
habit. Then he was accused of filing late and incomplete campaign expense reports with the Minnesota Ethical Practices Board. After narrowly dodging expulsion, he became the first legislator in state history to be publicly
censured. He eventually did jail time.

By the late 1980s, Staten found himself, in a phrase, “busted and disgusted.” . . . Like other disgraced politicians before him, it was religion —more specifically, the black church —that provided a road map to redemption for Staten. He eventually became an ordained Baptist minister.

  2. Speaking of religion: So what is the role of the Jordan New Life Church in all of this? Aren't they still holding the stolen property from the JACC office? That certainly doesn't reflect very well on them.

  3. Kevin - I agree 200% about the Jordan New Life Church. I am so deeply disappointed that an institution in our neighborhood which I used to respect highly for trying to bring positivity to the community has wedged itself in this ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. I know some folks there are reading this, so I hope they now know how bad they have damaged their standing in the community.
