A few weeks ago--as reported on this blog--businessman Larry Maxwell was convicted on 18 felonies in a mortgage fraud scheme.
Now word is Larry "Maximum" Maxwell's attorney, Larry Reed, will be going through the pointless effort of arguing a motion for a new trial. The highly-paid exercise in futility is scheduled to take place Tuesday, May 19, 8:30 AM in the court room of Judge Chu.
Chu usually holds court in 1059, but sometimes 1057.

I do not know where you are getting your information from but thier is no appeal scheduled that day. You really need to be more credible.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, the info is good. Obviously, hearings have a tendency to be rescheduled or even to be telephonic. Best to confirm your info before you run all the way to the courthouse.
ReplyDeleteBut as far as I know, the info is good. Furthermore, Reed is appealing on 13 different counts, including allegations of prosecutorial misconduct for something said during final arguments. An objection from Reed was overruled on that point, but Reed is arguing it anyway.
Johnny - where's the post where I placed a bet on when the appeal would be filed? I can't find it.
ReplyDeleteDid I win?
One thing I do know if that you are supposed to be credible but during this entire process you made sure Larry Maxwell did not get a fair trial. There were many days I know you sat in that court room and watch the judge be unfair toward the defendant.
