Whorehouse Boarded, Un-Boarded At 2700 Morgan Ave. N. (Summer Visitation 2009)
Photos By John Hoff
The ongoing situation with 2700 Morgan Ave. N. in the Jordan Neighborhood continues to be, well, ongoing. A couple days ago the house was...
...raided by police, then boarded a short while later. Recently, I drove by there with my son and saw the boards.
"Oh, joy in the Jordan Neighborhood!" I thought. I jumped out to take a picture. I had my son standing in front of the house for a photo when I looked over and realized...the board over the front door had been ripped off, and was laying up against a tree.
"Um, let's go back to the car," I told my son. Over the next couple days, the boards over windows began getting pulled off, one by one, and individuals could be observed coming and going. So much for "joy in Jordan." This evil house may be on the ropes, but the fight isn't over, yet.
However, the writing is on the wall and the trend toward North Minneapolis revitalization is impossible to resist. The fight might stretch on for a while, but Jordan will eventually win.
Hi Johnny,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the house was broken into about an hour after it was boarded! Several neighbors called 911 to report it...the police did come out...but nothing was done. I wish the city would have condemned that house a long long time ago! It never should have been approved for sale or to become a rental.
