The much-anticipated, highly-symbolic demolition of 1564 Hillside Ave. N. was rumored to be pending on or about July 20, but has not yet happened. Now a citizen of the Jordan Neighborhood has passed on an enlightening communication from a city official regarding the fate of "Pandora's Box" and the scheduled demolition...
It turns out July 20 was actually the EXPIRATION DATE FOR APPEALS OF THE PENDING DEMOLITION. Just because that date has passed doesn't mean a backhoe shows up the next day in a pissed-off frame of mind. There is, after all, coffee to be consumed and gotta put some new stickers on the hardhat and all THAT. But, seriously, word is that once some contractor has the demolition order, they usually have so many OTHER "demo orders" that it takes 2 or 3 weeks to get it on their schedule.
The latest "best guess" is a lovely fall demolition, with the yellow color of the backhoe matching NoMi's spectacular autumn foilage, ahhhh.

I have a very specific opinion as to where the bill for demolition of this property should be sent and who should be legally obligated to pay it.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, it's not the mortgage company involved in the last transaction.....
Yeah, let's pay "Wheel of Fortune."
ReplyDeleteIs there a letter "J?"
You get to buy a vowel JNS and spin again.....
ReplyDeleteHow about the letter "K" can I get a "K"???
ReplyDeleteI'd like to use my Blackberry to phone a friend. Oh, wait a minute...wrong game. I'm going to use 91% of my funds to buy the vowels in the word "admin."
ReplyDeleteThere's no "K."
ReplyDeleteI'm the one in charge of the puzzle even though I also guessed the letter. I'm forced to wear two hats, here, including a contestant hat and also Vanna White's hat.
I bought an "E."
Here's what the puzzle looks like so far:
J E _ _ _ _ _ _ _E
I don't know, however, if my idea is the same as the idea posted by the first anonymous.
But I want there to be a K.. a K.... The bill should at least partly go to someone who's name has a K in the name...
ReplyDeleteAll crooks and fraudsters involved should have to split the bill in some kind of way.
Leon Kingrussell?
ReplyDeleteWhere would that crackhead get two dimes to rub together?
No, not Kingrussell..
ReplyDeletenevermind.. sorry to interrupt your game.
Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteSomebody just sent me a TEXT MESSAGE instead of posting a comment. The text says:
KEITH, SILLY, KEITH!!!!!
You're not interrupting, silly! XO
ReplyDeleteOh snap! I think I have the answer to your puzzle, but there's no "a" or "i" in it. That means all the money I spent on "admin" was wasted!
ReplyDeleteThe Subject matter is:
ReplyDelete"PEOPLE"
So far (and it's still his turn) JNS has guessed -
J E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ E
_ E _ _ _ _ E _ _ _ _ _
JNS - For thr trip to Hawaii and all the money, do you wish to spin again, or solve the puzzle?
To Anon: Don't worry, it's not the first that that all the money has been wasted on "admin"
ReplyDeleteNow we have no more money left for any of the letters in "programming"...
I'll solve the puzzle.
ReplyDeleteThe answer is..is...
Oh, it's time for a commercial break! Readers should go check out some of the Google ads.
Original Anon Says:
ReplyDeleteSorry JNS, you're time is up. Next contestant please solve the puzzle:
The Subject matter is:
"PEOPLE"
So far (and it's still his turn) JNS has guessed -
J E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ E
_ E _ _ _ _ E _ _ _ _ _
Well, since there isn't enough money to buy all of "p R O g R A M M I N g" - I'll just have to pick the free letters..
ReplyDeleteCan I have an 'R'?
You can have an R, and a good buy it is!!!
ReplyDeleteJERR_ M_ _ RE
Original Anon Says:
ReplyDeleteJordan Neighbor asked for an R. Here's where they stand. You may buy a vowel and spin again Jordan Neighbor.
The Subject matter is:
"PEOPLE"
J E R R _ _ _ _ R E
_ E _ _ _ R E _ _ _ _ _
I believe I'm owed another 'R'...I believe our other contestant has added another puzzle... like I said.. all fraudsters should split the bill... we are starting with two of them...
ReplyDeleteI'd like an M, please.
ReplyDelete(M is one of my favorite letters)
OK, here's your "M."
ReplyDeleteJERR_ M_ _ RE
KE_ _ _ RE _ _ M _ _
Would you like to buy a vowel?
Sorry for the break in regular scheduled "programming"...
ReplyDeleteNow, can I buy my vowel???
I'd like to buy an 'O'.
As you wish...
ReplyDeleteJERR_ MOORE
KE_ _ _ RE _ _ M _ _
Oh, you got a good deal on that vowel! Kind of a buy one get one, (bogo).
has Keith Reitman (sp) had any legal consequences in this crime?
ReplyDelete@Anon529 - The answer is No. And some commenters on this blog have been urging Keith to state his side of his story about the fraudulent deal at 1564.
ReplyDeleteKeith? Are you going to go on record and step out into the streetlight? Or are you going to stay in the dark, shady part of the street where no light manages to get through the trees?
Back to the regularly scheduled "programmaing" ...
Can I get a 'T' please.
Here's your "T." Looks like it was as good a deal as the M!
ReplyDeleteJERR_ MOORE
KE_ T _ RE _ T M _ _
I'd like to solve the puzzle..
ReplyDeleteJERRA MOORE
&
KEUTS REUTMIS
YES!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, absolutely, these are the two no-account culprits responsible for the situation at 1564 Hillside Ave. N.
SEND THEM THE BILL!!!!
Ok Keith, here is your opportunity to set the record straight. If you don't have an explanation perhaps the county attorney should pursue legal proceedings against you. I know in an earlier blog you said you'd answer any question, so be a man of your word and spill the truth about 1564 Hillside.
ReplyDeleteAnyone check the property tax records?
ReplyDeleteSomeone just bought
this house on 7/10/2009 as a
tax forfeiture.
Ah...what the heck is he going to
do with it?
Think the guy knows it's going to be demolished? Or are the Hennepin County tax assessors playing a mean joke?
