Mortgage Fraudster Larry Maxwell...Looking Old And Broken

Mug shot therefore in public domain, blog post by John Hoff

In my experience, it takes months for mug shots to hit the website of the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) but it's just a case of bad things taking time. Today I was tooling around on the site, punching in various names, and I turned up our old friend Larry Maxwell, who committed mortgage fraud at...

...1564 Hillside Ave. N.

Old Larry Maxwell (and, my god, he DOES look old) is doing 16 and 1/2 years, or 198 months and is currently housed in St. Cloud.

R.I.P. Larry Maxwell.

Reside In Prison.

  1. I was dismayed to hear that people like Greg Coleman & Larry Fitzgerald had testified on Maxwell's behalf at trial. The housing value collapse and subsequent economic downturn had large bank perpetrators, but it also had individual perpetrators. Maxwell was one of the latter. Just because Countrywide's Angelo Mozilo is not (yet) in prison doesn't mean that Larry Maxwell shouldn't be. Larry Maxwell inflicted damage upon the North Side. If they ever want their communities to improve, black people need to stop defending (and voting for) people merely because they're black.

  2. @Anon 11:40, You are right about perpetrators from right here inside the northside that contributed to the housing value collapse and economic downturn.

I'm currently up to my ears trying to connect some dots and dig into some fraudulent deals to see who got a payday at closing time.

It's very sad to see our own community members who purposely contributed to deals that they *knew* were not legit, knew they were illegally funded, but yet held out their hand for their slice of the fraudulent pie on closing day.

Our own community members helped to rape and pillage the northside housing market and some of these community members have the audacity to continue showing up at events, taking a place at the table, acting as if they have the communities best interest at hand. When really they are just looking for the next payday because there is no way they can sustain a career "out in the real world" -- meaning outside the northside nonprofit poverty pimping world--.

It is sick and infuriating and northsiders who want the best for the community must stand up, speak up and put their collective foot down.
