State Senate District 58 is down by 9,000 people. (Insert numerous exclamation marks here)
Naturally, boundaries will have to be redrawn.
Of course, I doubt if these boundaries will be drawn so far as to include Hopkins, Minnesota.

This loss of people is undoubtedly the result of mortgage fraud and the foreclosure crisis, which has caused buildings formerly full of citizens to be vacated.
Wow people would actually leave Minneapolis? I find that hard to believe.

They had to leave. There homes were foreclosed on and torn down.

ReplyDeleteCivics refresher for you-- Art. 1 Section II of the The Constitution of the US requires a counting of the people. Last codified in 1954-This happens every ten years.
2010-10=2000.
Unknown when, precisely, the population loss occurred. Seems like a lot of it was due to the foreclosure crisis, vacancies, etc.
