Bank Of America Reaching Out To Problem Mortgages At St. Paul Event...

Creative stock photo, (Forward Operating Base Gardez) and blog post by John Hoff

State Rep Bobby Joe Champion forwarded this information to me, and it seemed like a good public service to disseminate it.

Subject: Bank of America Sponsored Homeowner Event---Thursday, June 14 through Friday, June 16

Bank of America is...

...committed to helping customers in need of assistance avoid foreclosure, and as part of that commitment we have increased our efforts to reach out to them face-to-face. In 2011, we hosted 45 outreach events and participated in nearly 300 third-party events, in addition to expanding our network of Customer Assistance Centers to 50 across the country. So far this year we have participated in more than 100 events, 60 of which we sponsored.

We are continuing our outreach efforts and are hosting an event in St. Paul next month. We have identified more than 2,700 customers within 100 miles of St. Paul and are actively contacting them - through direct mail, phone calls, emails and text messages - to encourage their attendance. This event will provide our customers with a forum to meet directly with a Bank of America specialist to review options for loan modifications or other alternatives to foreclosure.

If you are aware of any of your constituents who are Bank of America mortgage customers and would benefit from speaking to one of our specialists, please encourage them to attend the event by scheduling an arrival time at www.bankofamerica.com/homeownerevent or calling 1.855.201.7426. We will have specialists on site to serve customers speaking English and Spanish. Event details are as follows and are also included in the attached event flyer.

Thursday, June 14 through Friday, June 16

I would also like to invite you to visit the outreach event to see our operations in person and have an open dialogue on how we are reaching out to customers in your community. Feel free to contact me to arrange a time to visit the event with our team, or with any questions regarding the event. Thank you for your continued partnership with Bank of America.

Sincerely,

Pat Holden

  1. The email that went out was incorrect, and you quoted it without double-checking one thing: unless there is some kind of time warp scheduled for June 15, then the event is happening on Thursday the 14th and Friday the 15th, not the 14th and 16th as stated.

I got the same email notification twice today; once from BofA and another time from Bobby Joe Champion's office (I think; it was a northside politician though). Both had the same inaccuracy.

  2. OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

Well, it can stand as it is with your comment noted as the correction, and mine as the EXPLETIVE. God forbid I should assume a date is correct that came from a bank press release and was forwarded from my state rep!

I sure didn't get paid to publish it, but I'm sure somebody got paid a hell of a lot to WRITE it.
