Gangster Rap Video Shoot Goes So, So Wrong At Janine's, 1510 West Broadway, Now Under New And Idiotic Ownership...

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

According to a reliable source...

On October 12, a citizen saw three males enter a convenience store at 1510 West Broadway with serious weaponry. The good citizen called 911.

Squad 424, Officers Schmidt and Fischer rolled up and saw several parties inside the store with their hands up and another party behind the register. The two officers set up a perimeter and called in officers from the Special Operations Division. The individuals were called out of the business and officers recovered two Obama masks and a replica handgun. One of the parties was still wearing the mask when he was taken into custody. A total of 8 people were detained, along with the business owner. The people inside the business told officers they were...

Wait for it.

Wait for it...

MAKING A MUSIC VIDEO!

 The owner confirmed this.

All the "actors" were tagged for disorderly conduct. One had a warrant. The masks, camera and replica gun were all properly inventoried. One account of the incident said 15 squad cars were on Broadway with assault rifles.

The business is apparently called Janine's but there is no sign visible on the outside with the name of the store, which looks sad and run down even by "inconvenience store" standards. Reportedly, the new business owner just assumed ownership two weeks ago, and already shows signs of being a spectacular idiot. Thank god we have such good and disciplined police in Minneapolis and all of them held their fire.

  1. Normally something akin to a parade permit is required. Notice to authorities in advance would be appropriate. Costs of response should not be borne by citizens. These video entrepreneurs should be billed and sued in a civil action if declining to pay. Stupid people do stupid things, but we don't, do we?

Has Jill Clark moved from New Age, to Rap? Or do the Venn diagrams not overlap this time?

  2. The store will be a front for gang activity and drug dealing. This racket is as old as the city of Chicago itself. Just as we will never be able to shake off war in the mideast and Asia, we will never be able to shake the Chicago element that has taken over Minneapolis. It saddens my heart that i may have to shoot one of these gentlemen someday.

  4. Bill the idiots for the officers time. Tax payers shouldn't have to pay for this insanity. Thank God no one was hurt. They would have sued to City and cost us millions.

  5. I agree. Bill the idiots. And the biggest idiot was the store owner who AGREED to this. The wannabe gangster rappers are probably "judgment proof" but it's worth going after the guy running the store.

  6. I agree...Bill the idiots.

If these guys think it is so glamorous to be a seen as a Gang-banger, then maybe a little slap to the wallet will clear their heads.

As for the idiot with the warrant I am not sure if that is method acting or type casting?

  8. Based on this blog post from Hillside Chronicles, it appears the owner of Janine's called the police on some guy allegedly "dealing and stealing."

Looks like the owner might be pulling his head out of his ass. Progress.
