City's First Homicide Of 2013 Was At 2907 Russell Ave. N., Other Information Hard To Come By Right Now...

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

Mainstream media are reporting a homicide on the "2900 block" of Russell Ave. N. Crime scene tape all around the property makes it clear the address is 2907 Russell Ave. N., a homesteaded property owned by Manuel J. Moreno.

Also listed as a taxpayer is Santiago Moreno.

For once, the city's property website isn't complete crap and actually lists useful information...

Manuel Moreno purchased the property in September of 2005 for $178,000.

I am not able to link online court records to either Moreno with any degree of certainty at this time.

A business named Lebron Services LLC lists 2907 Russell Ave. N. as its address. No owner is listed for the business but 2907 Russell Ave. N. is indeed the address listed on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website. This business was started in September of 2011. It is still in good standing, however was due for renewal on December 31 of last year. Virtually nothing shows up online regarding this company except the bare fact of its existence.

Scraping the bottom of the internet barrel for scraps of information, I found a phone number linked to Manuel Moreno of 2907 Russell Ave. N. that was, at one time, also used by somebody named Miguel Moreno with no address listed.

  2. Is it any surprise that North Minneapolis had the first homicide of 2013 in Minneapolis? It certainly won't be the last I'm sure, duh, judging from how those people behave. North Minneapolis is an embarrassment to Minneapolis. Step it up North. Take care of your homes, kids, pets, and your own goddamn lives.

  3. Anonymous that's just cruel. Most of the issues in North Minneapolis are due to a lack of funding for our young men and women to have good jobs within walking distance of their homes. Your attitude is to leave them behind and that is just wrong. What we need is job job job not a self cleaning oven.

  6. 8:13 has it right on the nose. To 8:38 i will say that there is a certain element of a certain segment of society that thinks everything should be handed to their poor helpless asses.
They are the main perpetrators of blaming another element of society for the bullshit games they run on their own people and everyone else within earshot. Fuck you.

  9. You constantly antagonize people with mental disabilities, a disturbing amount of your posts are designed to humiliate black people and you claim every now and then that you reject racist comments. You are fooling no one.

  10. Actually Johnny's posts usually just show black people humiliating themselves.

  11. Birthday Celebration turns into a Murder Death Kill with a knife. Update perp guilty plea.

    http://www.hennepinattorney.org/NewsPress/tabid/391/EntryId/283/Two-plead-guilty-in-seperate-Minneapolis-murders.aspx

"Mauricio Antonio Orochera pleaded guilty to unintentional second-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Ever Gonzalez-Canales."Orochera, 42, of Minneapolis, was scheduled to go on trial Monday. He will be sentenced on Oct. 7 and is expected to receive 180 months in prison."

"Orochera, Gonzalez-Canales and other men lived together in a house in the 2900 block of Russell Avenue North. The men were celebrating the birthday of the homeowner when the two began to argue. The other men in the house separated them and Gonzalez-Canales went to his room in the back of the house with the homeowner. A few minutes later, Orochera went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and waited for the victim. When Gonzalez-Canales finally emerged, Orochera attacked him, pushing him back into the back room and stabbing him. "
