The Star Tribune blog and numerous participants in the North Talk Facebook forum are discussing the police standoff at 3807 Aldrich Ave. N., which (last I heard) is still going on right this moment. There is an armed man inside and police have the house surrounded, with a wide area cordoned off disrupting normal traffic, normal lives, and school bus routes.
It is, however, somewhat refreshing to learn there are still some school bus routes in North Minneapolis and not all school children are required to ride public transport and endure random beatings. In any case, the house at 3807 Aldrich Ave. N. is...
...a rental owned by Usiholo Peter Musa Agboneni, with the taxpayer listed as PMA Properties, Inc., of 8607 Tessman Circle, Brooklyn Park, MN. The current owner has only had the house since August of last year, and purchased the house for $75,000.
What is that? (Sniff, sniff) Is that the rank odor of absentee Northside landlord that fills my nostrils with its foul stench?
Anyway...
Though there are no business licenses listed on the city's website for the house, the address turns up a hit online for an entity called Wildxtasy Lingerie. That same entity turns up at a lot of other addresses and appears to have a fairly developed online profile, and yet there is some kind of association with 3807 Aldrich Ave. N. and Wildxtasy.
Residents having discussions on North Talk Facebook page have helpfully suggested the police might blast music within to make the man think of surrender. I pointedly nominated Celine Dion as my favorite music for ending a siege.
Tell me this little tune, embedded below, doesn't make you want to strip down to your underwear, put your hands in the air, and walk out into the winter weather to give yourself up to a SWAT team?

According to the Mpls Safety Patrol, Mpls school buses are NOT dropping off kids in that area (40th to Dowling- Aldrich/Bryant). They have school buses to temporarily house those kids on the corner of 40th/Colfax and they will be delivered there. Parents who are able, can come pick up their kids, or Mpls will deliver them once all is clear.
-----------
Looks like at one time the house was owned by an entity called Equitron Holdings, LLC according to the North By Northside blog.

A comment has been rejected that suggests and encourages specific violence toward the suspect and also the absentee slumlord who owns the house.
ReplyDeleteMinneapolis Star Tribune blog reporting standoff ended.

There is no "absentee slumlord." This is slanderous and I ask that you remove his name from your blog.
ReplyDelete"Slumlord" is a term that is a matter of opinion, and it's my opinion he's a slumlord.
ReplyDeleteAs for "absentee," the landlord does not live in North Minneapolis. That makes him an "absentee."
I stand by what I wrote, and you can take a long walk off a short dock into an icy fjord.
I use to live at that address and my company was registered at that address we relocated to bloomington in 2012 after tornado hit we no longer are associated with that address we are a legit lingerie company so please do more research when reporting
ReplyDeleteEverything I reported about there being a one-time association with that address is true, so where's the additional fact-checking that needed to be done?
