Nathan Dwayne Jones Sentenced To Life In Prison Without Parole, One Less Sexual Predator On The Streets...

Mugshots, therefore public domain, blog post by John Hoff

Word reaches me today from a reliable source associated with the case that Nathan Dwayne Jones, a sexual predator who broke into a woman's home in North Minneapolis and raped her, leaving a trail of evidence that a first year police cadet could have followed in the dark, drunk.

Jones was a tenant of slumlord Rasheed Khan, of "Rapist Village" fame, who appears to collect sex offenders the way some little boys like to collect Matchbox cars.

This is one sexual predator down...but a lot to go before our neighborhood is a safe place for women and children.

  1. Even though this guy has a long history of sex crimes, and even though rape is a horrific crime, I am concerned about the logic (or lack thereof) of someone getting life without parole for rape. Given that Minnesota doesn't have the death penalty, we've just dealt the harshest penalty possible for the crime of rape. He couldn't have gotten a harsher penalty if he'd killed the victim. In other words, killing her would have been a "freebie". A logical rapist (if such exists) could correctly reason that if killing his victim would reduce his chance of getting caught, then he might as well go ahead and kill her, since the crime of murder would carry no additional penalty beyond the crime of rape. Do we really want to incent rapists to kill their victims? Is rape alone really such a damaging crime that the victim (and the victim's family) would rather they be killed than survive? God forbid that one of my family members were raped, but if they were, I'd much prefer they were left alive.

  4. Oh please, level 3 sex offenders are the least likely to re-offend. Even the Minneapolis police say they are so well monitored they are not a problem.
Even though they are categorized as the most likely to re-offend, statistics prove they do not. And IF they do, it is not going to be a sex related offense.
The problem is that they are so persecuted, by blogs such as this, and by people such as John Hoff that it is difficult for them to get jobs and housing. They turn to petty crime to survive.
This blog can be blamed for the sex offender problems.

  5. BUT FOR extensive monitoring, Level Three Sex Offenders are the most likely to reoffend. And we find the monitoring inadequate in a number of ways.

Yeah, Johnny persecuting people like this makes them break into houses and rape women at knifepoint. Get real.
