It appears that Reg Chapman of WCCO has made a career out of airing racially-charged allegations by the family members of dead criminals, no matter how unlikely and far-fetched those allegations may be. Chapman reached a new low recently when, with an absolutely straight face and serious tone, he wrote republished ridiculous assertions that one Edmond Fair, age 24, was handcuffed and Tasered and THEN shot.
The accusation is against police in Brooklyn Center, where a great deal of North Minneapolis crime seems to have been migrating in the last few years.
Mysteriously absent from the story is the notable criminal record of Edmond Fair.
Here's his rap sheet...
...and, I tell you, it's a case of quality not quantity. Of course, I wasn't able to check other states (Illinois, cough cough) to see what might turn up THERE.

He pled to one of the assault charges, the rest was withdrawn. I still have to wonder what actually happened to the animal and what sort of animal was it? He was sentenced to 36 months in prison.02-CR-11-510

Oh my word. Arson at an apartment complex or public building? Sounds like this guy may have tried to achieve mass murder status at one point, but didn't succeed. Click here for mugshot.
He was convicted and sentenced to serve a year in jail. It appears he finished his sentence in May of this year.
The arson matter is relatively recent so hopefully I can obtain a criminal complaint and flesh out, further, what a dirt bag this guy was in another blog posting. (ADDENDUM, 8:40 PM, a Star Tribune story says he was facing a six-year-sentence for kidnapping and raping a prostitute. Gee, that didn't turn up in the rap sheet! I'll have to get that criminal complaint, too. In the meantime, here's the mug shot for that arrest, click here)
Yes, this story took place up in Brooklyn Park. But often enough Reg Chapman is roiling up the waters in North Minneapolis, so I think it's good to call him on his too-frequent nonsense.
Whoever said Big Reg Chapman wasn't a Fair guy? A legitimate Fair report can never be expected from the local media.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is where the real Fair story will be revealed. That is Fair enough for me.
So Johnny Northside, you are saying it's OK for the police to kill people if they are dirt bags?
ReplyDeleteDirt bags don't have rights?
It is only Fair whom did not play fair and now he is worm fare who no longer has to pay bus fare and, if anything, that's fair. See you next year at the Fair.
ReplyDeleteTo sit and joke about the dead is so disrespectful. He was also a man and human being that was loved and made plenty of people laugh
