Minnesota Level Three Sex Offender Website Goes Down In Middle Of Debate About North Minneapolis "Zip Code Moratorium"

Readers of JNS blog are aware of how the hot issue of Level Three Sex Offender concentration in North Minneapolis, which became even hotter lately when Hennepin County Commissioner Linda Higgins announced on Facebook that Hennepin County was refusing placement of anymore supervised L3SOs in the 55411 and 55412 zip code.

JNS blog promptly compiled a list of dirty dogs who managed to get into our neighborhood under the "moratorium" (Higgins says don't put that word in her mouth) and announced this blog and others would patrol for violations of this informal sex offender cease fire.

Which was exactly what I was doing a moment ago when I discovered...

Oh, my word. The site is mysteriously down. Instead of a convenient function that allows searching by zip code, now there are links to lame PDFs of every Level Three Sex Offender in Minnesota, without any geographic specificity at all. Other useful portions of the site, like the "offender locator" for all prisoners and offenders on probation, is also down.

Coincidence? I doubt it. JNS blog has its ears to the ground regarding this new development.

  1. Wouldn't you know?
I wonder who decided to make this change?

  2. Does not matter what Higgins says or what the board did. Their action is unenforceable under the law.

  3. Seems pretty enforceable to me since Hennepin County has to be the one providing the personnel to supervise these L3SOs. It's completely enforceable.

  4. Here are two interesting links. Not NoMi but still interesting. Fraudster flipper sentenced to LIVE IN ONE OF HIS PROPERTIES! Actually asks to go back to prison instead of live in his own shitpile? lol

House flipper Blaine Murphy sentenced to two years in prison

Serial house flipper sentenced to live on former property

  5. The DOC previously announced that the site would be down for maintenance. There is nothing surreptitious about this. And I guarantee is has absolutely nothing to do with the JNS blog.

  7. Site continues to be down today, Monday. I guess "weekend" includes the federal holiday in this instance. Let's see if it includes Tuesday, too.

  8. Tedious technical note for the sake of the historical archive.

Original blog posting had copied and pasted "ghost" of the website notice announcing it was down. After site was revamped, this copied and pasted "ghost" (my term) somehow got altered and become mostly blank, probably due to the presence of live links in the original image. I don't know. Something technical happened.

So to avoid a blog posting with a big blank image in place of the original image, I have substituted this photo of a Level Three Sex Offender (Spanky Pete, who else?) which just happens to be the only one I have in my computer at the moment, besides another one I just used recently, so it won't be that one.
