The Star Tribune is identifying Johnathon J. Harris, 32, as the victim of a homicide yesterday on Hillside Avenue North. This blog has identified an individual arrested the same day for a murder but so far has not found whether the two are linked.

There is an extensive police record for a Johnathon JOSEPH Harris, also age 32, (DOB February 14, 1982) who most recently resided in the 55411 zip code. Sure looks like the same guy...

Here is the impressive rap sheet, not all of which may represent actual criminal convictions.

In regard to the last charge; he was found guilty and went to prison for 13 months with credit for 188 days served. He still owes $172 on this criminal charge and an update was sent to "collections" on February 13; but good luck collecting that NOW.

Here is a link to one of his mug shots found online, identifiable as the same guy by his birthday.

Harris, unfortunately, fits the usual (but not constant) pattern of Northside homicide victims who have rough backgrounds, numerous criminal convictions, and but for who-got-the-drop-on-who are just as likely to be perps as victims. The only thing missing so far would be some kind of roots in Chicago, but JNS blog hasn't dug all the way to the bottom, quite yet.

  8. That's someone's son maybe someone's father, regardless of his criminal past, that doesn't mean he deserved to die. His last crime was six years ago according to your post. Maybe he turned his life around you people are being so judgmental and you don't even know the facts. Look in the mirror when you feel like judging someone.
