Baby Isaac Early showing off his new glasses.
In September of 2013 the Minneapolis facebook and crime pages were all a flutter with the news that a 2-month-old baby had been shot in the head, on 2400 Emerson Ave North...
Outrage and disbelief was the conversation. There are only a few people who know exactly what happened that horrifying night but everyone agrees, it was horrible.
Reportedly, in an interview with police James Early said he pulled the trigger back because he thought “that this was the safe mode.” He said the gun accidentally went off as he was getting up to leave. That happens?
James Early said that after he ran, he got rid of the gun, a revolver with camouflage paint on the metal and black grips. Police never did find the weapon. That happens.
The doctors admit they are amazed at the recovery of this little miracle. I can tell you first hand it took an act of A Mighty God and the love of a Mother to bring him back. I have lectured Isaac's Mother on making better choices until she can't take it anymore. I'm a Mother, that's what we do. I can also tell you I have never seen a person so young love her children so much. I was simply impressed by her strength.
When I was her age I was a freshmen in college, spending my parents' money goofing off and barely making it across the courtyard to class. This young lady was going from the room of her newborn with a bullet in his head to the room of her daughter dying from heart failure, with a strength I had not seen in one so young. Even at the funeral of her beautiful daughter Denijah, she took the time to graciously thank me for coming. Say what you will about her choices but she is one STRONG girl!
Isaac is left with some residual affects of the shooting and is working closely with doctors and therapists. A surgery to remove the bullet is too dangerous because the bullet is in his main artery of the brain. He wears corrective lenses to help with his vision and will one day have laser surgery. He has some developmental and physical delays that will make life harder for him. His life has been hard enough already. The miracle is that he has a LIFE and he is loving it. He's just doing what little people do, playing in the park. Some of us big people do that also.
I keep Isaac in my prayers and thoughts. I expect big things from him and I will be watching! Rumor has it that Shelly Terry, Isaac's Grandma is a HUGE fan of this blog. I bet Isaac will be too.

Baby Isaac Early is looking very smart and bookish in those glasses! He looks like a little boy who loves story time. I hope somebody is reading to him a whole lot.
ReplyDeleteJordan North, I do not understand the line "corporate America was talking about THIS baby..." Can you elaborate further?
It's a play on the old Virginia Slims tagline.
ReplyDeleteA billion dollar corporation actually had this on their news feed at the office. It was the first time I had ever seen Nomi news streaming. Everyone was talking about this newborn baby.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the support :)
ReplyDeletePetra Ross, the mother of Baby Isaac, passed word to JNS blog through a third party that Isaac's favorite books are The Little Blue Truck and Clifford's Peek-A-Boo. She reads him two books every night but Isaac will only sit still for those two, because he likes the crazy sound effects made by his mother which crack him up.
ReplyDeleteThis little sweety is a gem and I can't believe how adorable the handsome tot is. Petra has a chance to raise a winner and I wish all of the luck. Isaac will be a winner, guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteSorry, it's not "guaranteed." There are family members more or less trying to pull them down, maybe not on purpose but just through bad example and bad lifestyle choices.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear some good news! Like those glasses too! Still, Johnny's comment about the bad influence of other family members is troubling… Hope Isaac can break away.
ReplyDeleteJohnney do you ever find positive things in a person's life ? Try if you might learn to be happy with ur self the war fucked u up , kill ur self

ReplyDeleteWhy you always got something fucked up to say jhonny .. im grown as hell I do not follow nobody footsteps if u ask me my family is doing just fine ok .. all my siblings work a job and got they own place and everything eles .. not living with my momma or daddy and fasho not running the streetz killing people or shit .. plz respect that and keep blogging about everybody eles that is waaaaaaaaaaaay more bogus than my family .. ok peachy very much appreciated. . It does not hurt to be positive once even thow you sit on a laptop at a coffee shop or whatever writing negative stuff about people u dont know .. is just very persistent judging that me or my family including my one year old son do not appreciate thats "guaranteed"... but anyways thanks for being the only pestimistic person to comment .. or are you still sticking with the whole " IS PETRA REALLY A PORNSTAR " AND HER FAMILY THIS AND THAT " YOU SEE ONE FLAW ND MY SON IS JUST HORRIBLE .. " OR ARE YOU WAITING FOR HIM TO GROW UP SO YOU CAN FIND SUMTHING TO TALK ABOUT HIM ON HERE .. wait u might be to old or will the famouse jhonny northside stay alive long enough on a deathbed just to find out how baby isaac grows up .. imma personally make it my problem to make sure he is better nd when my son graduates from highschool and college u better say sorry .. uugh you how old ??? Grow up ..
ReplyDeleteMs. Ross, I am going to assume these comments are really from you and not somebody pretending to be you and I will be happy to engage in a dialog.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I am not the only one concerned that the baby's grandfather, Alonzo Bell, is going to be a bad influence in the child's life and is just waiting to turn that sweet, glasses-wearing little boy into some kind of "Mini Me" gangster in his own image.
Need I remind you?
http://adventuresofjohnnynorthside.blogspot.com/2013/09/alonzo-bell-grandfather-of-two-year-old.html
Second, in regard to raising the "Is Petra A Porn Star" question, this is a good opportunity for you to explain why a picture of a porn star was in your Facebook images, tagged with your name, in the midst of other photos which were--beyond dispute--pictures of YOU.
This woman in the photo posted on your Facebook and tagged with YOUR NAME--one "Pinky" star of "Bang Bros" films, or so I've learned from that unpleasant sojourn into the world of those particular facts--resembles you in both face and build, thus leading to my line of questioning about the circumstances of THAT photo in THAT album.
Normally, when a photo is in a Facebook album, tagged with the name of the owner of the album and the Facebook profile, and the photo closely resembles the owner of the album, then 99.99 percent of the time it's one and the same as the owner of the album.
Well, it's now abundantly clear to me that it's NOT a picture of you but a photo tagged with your name which was in your album. So tell me what it was doing there and who tagged and and--most of all--why did you allow it to remain? Even if somebody else tags a photo, the person who is the subject of the tag can "untag" it.
Why didn't you? Why would you want a picture of a porn star tagged with your name and sitting in your photo album online?
In closing...
Being a parent is hard. I've made my share of terrible mistakes. We are all pulling for you and pulling for your son. And, privately (I'll just spill the beans again) some of us are worried that members of your family (in particular the child's grandfather, Alonzo Bell) will drag that sweet little boy down.
Ok lets correct something right now alonzo is my stepfather.. ok ... my moms ex husband nd if u kept doing your homework you would know that .. and honestly sense you think he gunna grow up based on his grandparents his PAPA IS A VIKING FAN AND WORKS TOO !! SOOO THANKS FOR TELLING ME MY SON WILL BE A POTENTIAL FOOTBALL PLAYER :) .. ONCE AGAIN GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT OK ... THE ONLY TIME I SEE MY STEPDAD IS HOLIDAYS ONE AGAIN YOUR JUDGING ... OH YOU FOUND A FB I MADE WHEN I WAS 17 WOW .. TRY AGAIN .... OBVIOUSLY ITS THERE BECAUSE I FORGOT THE PASSWORD ... P.S CRAZY HOW YOU STILL TALK ABOUT MY STEPDAD HE STILL IN UR THOUGHTS .. ITS OK IM GUNNA FORGIVE YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST IDEA ABOUT YOUR OWN LIFE SWEETY :)
ReplyDeleteSince you call Alonzo the "grandfather" I'm not getting any facts messed up, am I? You refer to him that way and that's his relationship to the child; grandfather.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, you clearly do see the man sometimes other than holidays. A picture of him by Isaac's hospital bed was shared online. No holiday was involved there.
The man is not just bad seed but a fully grown bad tree and if you're saying, in a roundabout way, you're actually keeping your son from being influenced by him then we're both in agreement that Alonzo Bell's potential influence on Isaac can mostly be assumed to be negative. We are actually in agreement.
I think we all want the same thing for Isaac. The miracle of his life is proof enough for me that he has a bright future. I don’t believe that a step grandparent, that lives 60 miles away from him, will alter that plan.
ReplyDeleteHow about this...I love the little guy and he will be a recipient of a dowry if his guardians do things right.
ReplyDeleteStay tuned folks because YOU WILL SEE....I am giving monetary presents where they are warranted.
I think this blog is unique and I love your city. My kids know this and will carry on my wishes which are more detailed than I care to express; I am going to die soon, keep your shit together and you may be a lucky mother fucker...I have nothing else to do with my money....my family deserves squat and will get it..
The anonymous commenter claims to be sitting on top of a fat potential inheritance.
ReplyDeleteSee Northside's Law.

Claim my ass..it's a
ReplyDeletegoddamned fact and you should check yourself before you wreck yourself...coy son...I might do it for you and you can't be negative all the fucking time....chill now and then. Leave it alone, Jones.
Glad to know he had made a tremendous recovery. Kudos to the mother for never giving up and we see that happen often. May God continue to build your strength and you truly have a blessing coming if it ain't came already. Keep you're head up
