MN DOC mugshot, therefore public domain, blog post by
John Hoff
James D. Early, whose act of accidentally shooting his baby nephew in the head horrified a neighborhood usually numb to horror, was the fortunate recipient of an incredibly rather light sentence after the baby, Isaac Early, miraculously survived with a bullet still in his head.
Many of us wondered, cynically, how well that light punishment would work out and if Early would turn his life around and start some clean living.
Well...
An anonymous commenter on this blog asserted James Devone Early was now a fugitive. That sent this blogger scurrying to the MN DOC website and, sure enough, the commenter was right. Early has been a fugitive since June 2.
(Minor side note: The MN DOC spells his middle name "Devon" on its website but it was pretty consistently "Devone" in prior media coverage)
In my blog post of June 9, I said there are times I get "crazy busy" and have to make my blogging count with as much impact as I can manage with my limited time.
I think this photo of this wanted fugitive, responsible for this horrific shooting, is a fine example of that principle.
