Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. I am here to be near my child. From 02/08 to 06/15 this blog pushed free speech to the envelope, so others could take heart and speak unafraid. Email me at hoffjohnw@gmail.com

Living The American Dream On 6th Street North
Here is my "only next door neighbor," whose name is Ky.
Ky doesn't speak much English, but he appears to speak more English than anybody else in his large extended family. (Hmong, I think) Yes, Ky owns this car! Even with limited English skills, this is what hard work and a good attitude will get you in America.
I wish all my neighbors were like Ky and his family...especially the ones who get liquored up and shout at the elderly lady for cleaning too much.
In the background, 3019 6th Street North, secured with a board. That's the one which caused me to fall flat on my butt, which some of my classmates tell me is the funniest part of the three videos on Minn Post Dot Com.
