Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. Volunteer Work At The Home Of "Patty Cake And The Polish Lady" (Photos 1 and 2)
Photos By John Hoff
Volunteers from "Rebuilding Together" were recently at the homes of "Patty Cake and the Polish Lady," aliases I customarily use for two citizens of the Eco-Village who have been hanging in there a long time, and who inspire us...
In the top photo, HACC Chairman Peter Teachout embodies that old saying, "Any excuse to get out the power tools." Below, volunteer Ali Abdishakur cuts into an old fence pole. The fence is part of "Patty's" yard and will be replaced by a much nicer wood fence.
