To the shock and amazement of absolutely nobody, the two no accounts charged in the murder of Shabar T. Hildebran, 19, (himself no stranger to criminal charges) both had extensive criminal records.
Lonnell Javey Powell and Tionne Gregory Hunter have both spend a significant portion of their lives burning up taxpayer dollars in the judicial system, as follows...

Lonnell Javey Powell should not be confused with Lonnell Mark Powell or Lonnell Irven Powell, who also have criminal records and show up in the system. They also have a number of civil cases which look like attempts to collect on debts.
However, when the name "Powell" came up in association with this case the first question on the mind of one Johnny Northside source was, "Is this guy part of the infamously criminally inclined Powell family? Some of whom were living in the house at 26th and Knox during the 'drug and gang house riot' which happened in the Jordan Neighborhood?"
As for Tionne Gregory Hunter, though he lacks the Powell brand name, his record is equally dismal.

The news release in this matter, as follows:
ReplyDeleteLate yesterday morning the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office charged two men in connection with the homicide that occurred in the 2500 block of Logan Avenue North early last Saturday morning.
That night just after midnight officers in the Fourth Precinct responded to a report of gunshots in the 2500 block of Logan Avenue North. 911 callers directed officers to a residence in the block from which they believed the shots had come.
Officers entered that residence and found a 19 year-old male deceased. A 25 year-old male was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Both were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The death of the 19 year-old was later deemed a homicide by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
After an investigation Minneapolis Police homicide investigators were able to identify two men who were implicated in this case. As a result of the case presented by the investigators the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office charged Lonnell Javey Powell (Date of birth 7-29-1988) and Tionne Gregory Hunter (Date of birth 4-16-1981) with:
Powell
Murder in the Second Degree (Felony) §609.19, Subd.1(1); §609.11
Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (Felony) §609.19, Subd. 1(1); §609.1
Hunter
Accomplice After the Fact (Felony) §609.495, Subds. 3,5
Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit investigators Sergeants Ann Kjos and Luis Porras worked in conjunction with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office to ensure charges in this case.
Anyone with further information about this case is asked to call the TIPS Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
Why are you judging the whole powell because a few of them lived the street life back then. Find something else to write about you white honky bitch.
ReplyDeleteThis article wasn't written "back in the day" but September 9, 2011, in Paktya Province, Afghanistan. This is very much a TIMELY act of alleged murder involving a person named Powell, not old "back in the day" allegations.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to take the information in your comment, and combine it with the information in this article, what I see is that Powells were involved in crime "back in the day" and in our current day, as recently as 2011, one of them was alleged to be involved in a murder.
Or is this Powell no relation to anybody else named Powell in North Minneapolis.
