Jeff Skrenes of the Hawthorne Hawkman blog forwarded this photo yesterday, noting that utilities are being disconnected at the old Fire 'N' Ice building on West Broadway. This right after the former "mutated office building" once owned by Keith Reitman (which was, at one time, a massage place) was demolished yesterday.
Both buildings are being leveled to make way for the new Broadway Liquor Outlet which will feature both commercial space and apartments.

So, commercial space and apartments... Does this mean BLO and maybe a Pawn America anchoring a two-story strip mall with a nail palace, s money-order/phone card store, a couple of fast-food joints, along with a Family Dollar Store sandwiched in-between, and with low-income apartments up above? I can't wait for the latest chapter in commercial-residental development at a major NoMi crossroads.
ReplyDeleteDrove by last night on the way home to see this place leveled with an unobstructed view to the church.
