A major effort is taking place, behind-the-scenes, by a group of North Minneapolis neighborhood revitalizers to compile information about the major landholders in our neighborhood. As part of this effort, the compiled data is being passed to this blog for dissemination.
Here is information compiled about Franklin Bank of Minneapolis and Sunrise Bank which are, apparently, connected somehow. It's not clear to me HOW but for the moment the interest is in compiling lists of property...
Here's a table.
I'm not convinced Googlebots can digest the data in that form so I'm going to replicate it, like so:
* 2939 James Ave. N., Sunrise Banks NA
* 1315 12th Ave. N., Franklin National Bank of Minneapolis
* 718 West Broadway, " "
* 715 21st Ave. N. " "
* 2024 Aldrich Ave. N. " "
* 2018 Aldrich Ave. N. " "
* 2019 Aldrich Ave. N. " "
* 3501 Lyndale Ave. N., Sunrise Bank NA
* 3326 Sheridan Ave. N., " "
The effort continues and watch for LOTS of this in the coming weeks and months. It may not make for the most exciting blog posts, but this sort of information dissemination is part of the struggle to turn around the neighborhood and, indeed, this blog's journalism mission started in that precise way; with simple compilation and dissemination of property lists.

Franklin National Bank is the same bank that refinanced Don Samuels house. He owes the bank more than the house is worth.
ReplyDeleteAnd a lot of people are in that boat.
ReplyDelete(Commenter is almost certainly Don Allen, the only person who ever gave a damn about the alleged fact in the previous comment)
Anon-12:09 Don takes care of his house and his finance's are none of your business. MANY people are underwater. This is in great part because Slumlord Investors have lowered property values by deferred maintenance and lack of supervision that allows social deviants and predators into our neighborhoods. This allows them to profit while we suffer due to lowered livability and the harboring of criminals. Of real concern to you should be Franklin National/Sunrise Bank's cozy relationship with the King Slumlord Mahmood Khan.
ReplyDeleteFranklin/Sunrise has also sold more than a few properties to Mahmood Khan. Including, if I'm not mistaken, the 8-plex up on 44th and Aldrich that just burned down and was demolished. Makes you wonder if that property would still be here if the bank were more selective in who it sells to.
ReplyDeleteWord is that Sunrise Bank holds quite a bit of paper on Khans investments. Several of these have already gone South.
ReplyDeleteWonder if they are willing to comment about being a silent partner in such greed.
“At the core of our success, though, is our dedication to the mission of helping our urban community and the underserved succeed. This financial inclusion philosophy ignites social change and promotes access to financial services for all.” - Chief Executive Officer David Reiling
Nice "gangsta roll" there Johnny. I bet many folks in North are jealous!
ReplyDeleteHell's to the yeah. Got MY money.
ReplyDeleteYou got a miss wording." It make not make for the most....." just saying brotha. Lol
ReplyDeleteThe Capt.
Don, the shallow eyed little veteran-rippin off motherfucker? Let the drum roll..... mysterious bullshit can happen at any time.....................................................................................!Southside!!!! ICU Dickhead Don
ReplyDelete..........................Don Allen.......that is ......
ReplyDeleteShould say "it may not make" instead of "it make not make." Thanks for catching that. I fixed it.
ReplyDeleteJeezus fricken Christ, why do you think this is Don Allen? I'm not Don Allen. This was 1st reported in aother blog.
ReplyDeleteThe jist of the post was that Don Samuels got favorable treatment from Franklin National because he was on the city council. Maybe JNS could look into this as it would be a blockbuster of a story that would get him on the USA map.
After all these backroom property deals are what damages all of NoMi, and was the cause of mortgage crisis.
How does he make those huge payment? Where does his income come from? His wife's non-profit contracts? What the hell is going on here?
First of all, nobody cares but Don Allen about that alleged story about Franklin Bank, mortgage, Don Samuels. Nobody, including people who ran for office against Don Samuels, cares about that non-story.
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, the story is worthless and will not put me on the map.
Third, I'm already on the map. I own the map. I am an 800 pound blogging gorilla and my furry gorilla butt is sitting on the map right now.
Fourth, the allegations are worthless. There was no preferential treatment. This old dirt has been aired over and over and is worthless.
sounds like someone is overly protective of the samuels family, any idea why anyone
