Criminal Record of Michael Kenteris Queen, Who Reportedly Killed Drew Heinkel...

Photo contributed by Nicole Sterling, blog post by John Hoff

After printing the criminal record of Drew Heinkel--the guy who was stabbed to death by Michael K. Queen--this blog promised to also print the criminal record of Mr. Queen. Delays in fulfilling this promise included a trucking trip to Ohio, but the time has come (the walrus said) to talk of many things:

Sailing ships, and sealing wax, cabbages and...the criminal record of Michael K. Queen.

Personally, I'd be very interested to see more details about his theft conviction where there was a furlough for treatment and "anger management." Who, I wonder, is the victim here? Is it Drew Heinkel who died? Is it Michael Queen, who may have been involved in a justified homicide? One thing is for sure...

...both of these guys can't be victims. And though a high-ranking police official says this is looking like a justified homicide (click here for details) that's not confirmed. So, presented here for thoughtful examination is the criminal record of Michael K. Queen.

JNS BLOG SUPER EXCLUSIVE: Michael K. Queen Fingered As Drew Heinkel's Killer...

Photos by Nicole Sterling, blog post by John Hoff

Nicole Sterling--forwarding info without asking for or being given any promise of confidentiality by this blog--has identified Michael K. Queen a.k.a. "Bootleg Mike" as the individual who killed Drew Heinkel with a knife.

Nicole Sterling knew the victim, Drew Heinkel.

In an email with three photos attached, Sterling says as follows...

Info about Drew Heinkels (killer). His name is Michael K Queen (I'm about 99% sure about his name) hes 30yrs old, his B-Day is in Nov, people call him "Movie Mike or Bootleg Mike" cuz he sells bootleg DVDs n stuff. He is still living at 3823 Dupont AVE N where the murder happened but before he moved in with us on Dupont he was living in St. Paul. He was on a Bowling League every Thurs night at the Brunswick Zone but I think that just ended. His parents live in St. Michael and his Dad was or still is a teacher at North High.

(No spelling or punctuation corrections were made by JNS blog, though a word used by Sterling was omitted and the word "killer" was substituted)

This information is all according to Nicole Sterling, but highly relevant and worthy of publication given her close relationship to the victim, Drew Heinkel. If Michael K. Queen would like to communicate by email, my email address is hoffjohnw@gmail.com and I am committed to publishing his side.

It must be noted--with extreme emphasis--the Commander of the Fourth Precinct has stated this matter is currently believed to be a justifiable homicide, click here for more info.

JNS blog is currently finding out more information about Michael K. Queen in the same matter information was dug up about Drew Heinkel. Criminal and traffic records have been located, and so far it appears Micheal Kenteris Queen, DOB 11/16/1979, has an extensive but relatively minor criminal record.

More info will follow in subsequent blog posts.

An involved and helpful North Minneapolis citizen sent me some interesting information about 3823 Dupont Ave. N., the address where Drew Heinkel was killed in what one police official said looks like a case of self-defense. Here's the list of 911 calls from 1/1/2008 through 2/22/2010, a total of 11...

Stabbing Incident Leads, Oddly, To Alley Book Salvage...

Through the wondrous workings of chaos, a fatal stabbing on Dupont Ave. N. somehow led to the salvage and sale of good quality discarded books...

I was driving through the alley near the "stabbing house" with my friend, looking to see if any kind of memorial had popped up, as these things so often do. We weren't sure at that time where, precisely, the stabbing took place (it seems as though it was inside 3823 Dupont Ave. N. itself) so we thought the alley might be a good place to check.

Lo and behold. Books! Books thrown away in the alley at a nearby house, neatly tied up with twine. A dozen bundles. The books and the way they were set out, arranged, allowed the books to speak. And what they were saying was, "Take me! Take me!"

We threw the books in the trunk of the car and called my friend Karl, who makes a living off salvaged books which he obtains from auctions and, well, dumpsters. Karl paid us 40 bucks cash, but we didn't even give Karl all the books. It turns out some of the books were study guides from the Navy Academy in the early 1970s and happened to be THE EXACT SAME KIND OF COURSES which my friend's dad had taken only a few years earlier at the same academy. My friend kept those books as a kind of keepsake-once-removed of her own father.

In the bottom photo, I pose with a bundle that shows the odd juxtaposition of books: stuff about how to relate to women along with a war strategy guide. I don't know who the owner of the books was (we suspect he died) but I think he was my kind of guy.

Well, except for the Navy part, of course.

To learn more about how to make money and have lots of fun through dumpster diving, check out the two books I've authored:

The Art and Science of Dumpster Diving and Dumpster Diving, The Advanced Course, by John Hoffman.

Rumor Of An Eviction Pending At 3823 Dupont Ave. N., Site Of Recent Homicide

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

A reader of Johnny Northside Dot Com informs me by communication on the back channel that he/she contacted the absentee property owner of 3823 Dupont Ave. N., site of a recent homicide.

Rumor is an eviction is now pending.

Some readers have asked me why I publish the specific addresses of incidents instead of just block numbers. I believe readers have a right to information about what is going on in their neighborhood, and that information should be specific enough to do something like, for example, call a landlord or a city council person about a problem property.

JNS BLOG EXLUSIVE: Insights Into Drew Heinkel, Who Died At 3823 Dupont Ave. N.

Images from the public potions of Facebook profiles for Jeremy Heinkel, top, and Drew Heinkel, bottom, blog post by John Hoff

Drew Heinkel's Facebook page, and those of his friends and relatives, reveals much about the young man who was stabbed to death at 3823 Dupont Ave. N. on February 13. For example, he used the name "Eagle Child" and had that name tattooed on his arm. His birthday, according to Drew's brother, was May 10, 1984.

In the top photo, Drew is on the left. The other individual is his brother, Jeremy Heinkel.

The second photo is the current "profile picture" for Drew's Facebook profile. No other pictures are visible.

A friend of Drew and Jeremy did a 14-minute long musical tribute video, filled with photos of Drew Heinkel. Here is a link to the video, click here, however, it is possible only readers who have Facebook profiles may find the video viewable.

JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: Details Emerge About The Homicide At 3823 Dupont Ave. N.

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

Not knowing the name of the victim in last night's death by stabbing at 3823 Dupont Ave. N., I headed there this morning hoping one of the customary boulevard memorials which always seem to pop up might contain clues to the identity of the victim. I ran into a WCCO news crew which had exactly the same idea...

There was, however, no memorial at the sight. The news crew actually invited me to hang around, apparently figuring this was Northside turf and I might be helpful. I recognized the camera guy from the Haywood Eaton shooting.

WCCO knocked on the door but there was no answer. They decided to just hang around and see who might show up. Some dudes got out of a car with ballons, and it seemed like the usual street side memorial was about to come into existence. But then it turned out the balloons were for Valentine's Day, and they knew nothing about the killing which took place only a few houses away.

"A St. Valentine's Day Massacre?!" one of the young men asked. I informed him the homicide took place the previous day so, therefore, no.

A woman who appeared to be in her late 50s or early 60s pulled up in a car, parking on the restricted side of the street. She got out, hobbling on an injured leg in a cast. I spoke to her and it turned out she was somewhat familiar with the events of the previous night, though she apparently hadn't been there.

According to the woman, her daughter lives at 3823 Dupont Ave. N. and also allows her step sister to stay at the house. The step sister was told not to bring "this guy" around, meaning the dead guy. But the guy came last night "with a billy club" and "started beating people." The daughter's boyfriend was beaten pretty bad. The woman did not want to stay and talk, but wanted to go inside the house and "check on everyone," including her grandkids and the beaten up boyfriend.

The house in question is a rental property, owned by a landlord who does not reside in the Twin Cities.
