Ike Wilson, the predatory sex offender who allegedly killed Jason Youngmark with a "janky" pistol that went off by itself, is now free on bond...
A blog commentator who claims (rather convincingly) to be Youngmark's brother posted information from the Hennepin County Jail roster showing Wilson was released. A bit more digging into the jail roster reveals Wilson posted $70,000 bond. Of that bond, $20K was for the charge of failing to register as a predatory offender, and the remaining $50k was for the murder charge. No bail was required for the manslaughter or wrongful weapon possession.
Here is the unedited info straight off the jail roster:
1/1 PREDATORY OFFENDER- KNOWINGLY VIOLATES REGISTRATION REQ. OR INTENTIONALLY PROVIDES FALSE INFORMATION MINNEAPOLIS PD WARRANT FELONY BOND POSTED $20,000

I find it outrageous that bail was set so low and no bail was required for two incredibly serious crimes. It's my understanding that anybody who can come up with ten percent of bail can obtain a bond from a bondsman, so we're talking about, what? Seven thousand dollars, here? Probably from a relative? I doubt very much if Ike Wilson, Jr. has that money laying around.
Even if this killing was an accident--and there's certainly plenty of evidence to show it was--still we have a predatory offender who was allegedly interested in buying a firearm when he is prohibited from doing so. Why? What kind of awful things was he plotting?
And yet that (alleged) possession of a firearm isn't worth a couple grand in required bail? MANSLAUGHTER isn't worth five figures in bail money?
I'm sure the family of Jason Youngmark is upset about this, and they have good reason to be.

Upset is an understatement. I look at some of the other charges and see other offenders still sitting in the pokey with bail set near the same level as this asshole the killed my brother. There crimes are simple theft or disorderly conduct. WTF is wrong with the system that is more interested in the money than keeping this sick fucker off the street?
ReplyDeleteWhile your blog is slanted and full of rhetoric, you are on the money about this Wilson dirtball being free -it should not be!!!

Yes and, maddeningly, Ike Wilson, Jr. isn't worth suing in a civil suit. Sounds like he doesn't own property, doesn't have regular employment.
ReplyDeleteBut he's still charged with some serious stuff. Don't contemplate taking the law into your own hands.
You people speak as if you know ilke I happen to be good friends with both and for jasons brother my heart goes out to the family but if ike was such a bad guy why was your brother with him dont judge keep an open mind and be strong
DeleteIf Ike was such a bad guy...why was Jason with him?
ReplyDeleteA good question indeed.
Um, how about, "Jason didn't CARE that Ike was a bad guy?"
