MN DOC mug shot therefore public domain, Isaiah James Pero, "off paper"
Level Three Sex Offender in the 55411 zip code, blog post by John Hoff.
After being down all weekend, the MN Department of Corrections website is back up and includes bells and whistles which look good but provide nothing of any consequence. There are some stirring photos of prisoners making bread and growing a garden to show MN DOC has a commitment to reform, not just punish.
Yes to that. More bread. More gardens...
...Good lord, haul trucks of garbage to the prisons and let the prisoners pick out the food waste to feed herds of swine. Let every leftover prison muffin be fed to swine or wild birds in the healing sunshine or the refreshing rain. Let seeds be saved from tomatoes and planted in composted coffee grounds. Give these troubled souls nature, hard work, books and training and something productive to do, even it if it is menial.
But I wonder how often those stirring MN DOC website photos depict the daily reality of MOST prisoners? Judging by how unresponsive MN DOC has been to my neighborhood, I have to wonder how much LESS responsive they are, in reality, to the reform needs of prisoners? I see those photos and a desire fills me to shout "BULLS***."
Because I can SEE the prisoners are coming out MUCH WORSE, judging by the crimes committed in my neighborhood by FORMER PRISONERS. The MN DOC brags on its new website that 74 percent of Minnesota prisoners remain free of a felony conviction for three years after their release.
Really? And that's supposed to IMPRESS US?
Other than some new photos and some less-than-stellar statements about MN DOC success, the revamped site provides convenient links to, for example, MNCIS. These links don't represent any new resources or information. It is just the system saying, "Hey, here's another way which already exists that allows you to go look stuff up." The link to MNCIS should come with a warning label about how HINKY that site is and how learning to use it involves learning a long list of maddening quirks.
Is the sparkly new MN DOC website going to make MN DOC officials answer emails when Northside residents want to know, for example, the current conditions of release of a Level Three Sex Offender who is making trouble in the neighborhood and MN DOC supervisor Gregory Fletcher can't seem to do ANYTHING about it?
No. The site is up, and it looks new and sparkly, but the smell of bureaucratic lethargy hangs upon it like the body odor of Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer.

Comment rejected. Best of luck on all your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteMy bad. That was actually TWO comments rejected.
ReplyDeleteJohn, as usual you don't know what the hell you are talking about. (I have to wonder what terrible thing happened in your childhood -- or what terrible thing you are doing now -- that makes you so scared and paranoid about sex! As for offenders committing crimes in your neighborhood (do you mean here or in Oklahoma?) why do you ignore that statistics that show that nearly all people who commit crimes do so somewhere other than where they live? Also, why not give an example, instead of just shouting irrelevant hyperbole? Really, John. There is a whole world out there with good things happening If you hate the northside so much, please leave (and, leave us alone). We will do just fine without you. You haven't done a damn thing in all these years to actually help or improve the neighborhood. Open up your mind, John.
ReplyDelete6:48 smells like Nancy and Marks brother perverted pedophile petey pervert who has been a thorn in our side since the days of Lincoln jr high and North High where he was constantly getting his ass kicked by the blacks he always called N****R If the blacks that see him now realized how many times he got his ass kicked and why, they would commence on their own whuppin's.
ReplyDeleteTo what is John supposed to keep an open mind? Sex offenses? People committing sexual acts against minors/unwilling participants? THAT is not something to which anyone should be open.
ReplyDeleteComments have been left many times about how supposedly Peter Rickmyer went to school in North Minneapolis when he was young and had, shall we say, DIFFICULTIES at the school. In all these years you've been leaving these comments you have never provided any kind of proof or documentation. Let's start with the full names of those siblings you just purported to name?
