Third "Watchful Weekend" Gun Crime Arrest: MATTHEW P. ROBINSON Who Reportedly Lives In The "Moghul Empire of Slum" At 716 21st Ave. N.

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Matthew P. Robinson, DOB 2/26/93, was received by the Hennepin County jail yesterday at 9:38 a.m. and faces a possible charge of "carry/possess pistol w/o permit in public place, gross misdemeanor, second or subsequent felony." This was, however, a bench warrant...

...issued on May 1 so it stems from an old charge. All the same, it's a gun crime and it falls under my "watchful weekend" criteria, so Robinson gets featured here.

The description of the charge makes me realize if I punch his name and birthday into Minnesota online court records, it's going to come back a row of bars like a slot machine, and coins of criminal conviction information are going to come rattling into my tray.

Sure enough!

Ching-ching-ching-ching-ching!!!!!

The "aiding an offender" charge was dismissed but he pled guilty to weapon possession. He had supervised probation but didn't follow it very well, since more than one warrant was issued.

Convicted, got a 60 day sentenced but it was stayed, time to serve was 2 days with credit for 2 days served. (Kidding font) Also received a t-shirt that said, "I was arrested for theft of moveable property and all I got was this lousy t-shirt, oh, and two days in jail." (End font)

Pleaded not guilty. Found "guilty as hell." But what did it matter? All he got was a year's probation (kidding font) and another lousy t-shirt. (End font)

CARRY/POSSESS PISTOL W/OUT PERMIT - PUBLIC PLACE - GROSS MISDEMEANOR

Convicted last month on this charge. A bench warrant was issued on May 1st and Robinson was picked up yesterday. It appears he has a year sentence hanging over him, credit for 8 days, but 30 days to serve. If eligible, he can serve this as electronic home monitoring or work release. He also has two years probation.

Robinson was previously free to "report on own" according to previous roster information, and his name turns up in a very recent edition of my "roster nuggets," click here.

Did he not "report on own," then? The roster says "bench warrant." How does anybody get a sweet deal like this and foul it up?

Robinson's address on the jail roster is listed as 716 21st Ave. N., part of the Moghul family empire of slum. The owner is Mohammed A Moghul, 648 Iona La, Roseville, Minnesota.
