A pair of socks and fluffy fake fur slippers, laid out on a window ledge. These weren't here the day before when I checked. The garage behind this property has been endless trouble, and it is structurally unsound due to fire.
It's coming down soon. So we're told.
What's notable is so often there is no attempt to hide the squatting activity. Living in abandoned buildings is a cultural norm in some parts of my neighborhood. So why hide it? Hooking, drug deals, drug use, selling hot goods...often these things are done casually and openly.
I didn't take these articles. But I did knock 'em to the ground.
