Diane Carole Presley Has Extensive Criminal Record, Has Spent Much Of Her Life Dancing To The "Jailhouse Rock"

Unlike many of the criminals I write about, Diane Carole Presley isn't in jail or prison right now, and she isn't charged with anything. But I came upon her criminal record while researching Wanda Nunn, "The Fleeing Nunn," and I was so impressed by Presley's resume I thought I'd share it...

First, a word about how Presley and Nunn are entwined. When I search "Wanda Nunn" on MNCIS, a bunch of information about Presley also comes up. Sometimes I see this happen with an alias, but there's no indication "Diane Presley" is an alias of Wanda Nunn, or vice versa.

Nunn did sue Presley in some kind of civil suit, which is fairly interesting. When does one criminal no account go to all the trouble of suing another criminal no account? Don't no accounts usually settle these things on the streets, extra-legally?

What really catches my attention is that Presely, like Wanda Nunn, is a very specific sort of criminal. She's a thief. Over and over, like it's her freaking vocation, Presley is a thief.

27-CR-86-900815 PRESLEY, DIANE CAROLE 02/01/1960 03/28/1986 Hennepin Criminal/Traffic/Petty Downtown Crim/Traf Mandatory Closed THEFT OVER $250

Sentenced to 22 months in prison. That's pretty stiff for a first conviction, but maybe it's only her first conviction in MINNESOTA. Unknown if she received any kind of parole. Sometimes these old entries on MNCIS aren't complete.

Sentenced to 26 months in the workhouse. Interestingly, there is a notation about this matter from 1986 being "closed" on July 2, 2007.

Here is why I'm writing about Presley. Nothing catches my attention like the word "murder," unless it's the word "appetizers." However, she pled and was only convicted of Second Degree Assault, for which she apparently did 653 days in prison.

And, interestingly, at this point on MNCIS somebody else's charges also pop up, as follows:

Not the closeness of dates and ages and, in particular, note the two cases are ONE DIGIT APART on the case number and the charges are the same. And, just like Presley, Mr. Allen was only convicted of assault. His sentence was more stiff: 71 months.

But back to Diane Presley and her thieving ways.

Guilty. The sentence was all messed up; crap about work release, home detention, "stayed time revoked." These criminals do nothing the easy way, not even a suspended sentence.

Guilty. Violated probation.

Guilty. The "Genesis II" treatment program was recommended. If you ask JNS blog, the very term "Genesis II" is a contradiction in terms.

Guilty. Sentenced to 28 months.

Guilty. Sentenced to 14 months, with credit for 31 days.

Sentenced to 31 days in the workhouse. I'm guessing it's the same 31 days she managed to apply to the other sentence, above.

Convicted. Had to pay $130 or, to put it another way, the proceeds of a couple hours worth of shoplifting.

Had a stiff sentence hanging over her, but most of it was stayed. To this very day, Presley owes $1,545.31 in costs. On the bright side, her voting rights were restored in February of 2011. I'm guessing she'd vote for Brett Buckner, who also doesn't like to pay his judgments.

Prior to this criminal conviction, Presley's home address was somewhere in the 55418 zip code. But in this last charge, for which she was found guilty and sentenced to 90 days, her address was in North Minneapolis, the "55411." In fact, the "plus four" on the zip code (2934) shows her address was somewhere on Russell Ave. N.

Information from a federal prison inmate locator shows Presley did a stretch in a federal pen, but was released February 22, 2008.
