Some hours ago, mainstream media sources named the second (alleged) attacker of Minneapolis mayoral candidate Mark Andrew as Deea Leshawn Elliott, a juvenile. 

In a story that made national news, 63-year-old Andrew was robbed of his cell phone at Mall of America and then jumped by two female accomplices. But Andrew fought back, causing the arrest of both of his attackers and, incredibly, his cell phone was recovered, as well. 

The mainstream media appear to be writing their story off this charging document (click here), but withholding many facts contained in the document. It is, however, the bread and butter of this blog to reveal a more granular level of factual detail neglected by the mainstream media.

When police served a search warrant on 2722 Fremont Ave. N. this July, they allegedly found 31.4 grams of cocaine in the pocket of a jacket. In the same jacket was the ID card for Sylvester Powell, (DOB 3/10/49) who is now charged with felony drug possession.

"Powell" is one of the surnames which an informed, highly-placed sourced provided to me as the names of a known Minneapolis crime families. I do not know if Romere Powell is a member of some "Powell Crime Family," but his criminal record is impressive so he's worth writing about.

In the most recent complaint against Romere Powell, police say Powell offered to sell drugs to a citizen who was at Runyon's restaurant, a rather nice place at 107 N. Washington Ave.

This citizen was smart enough to refuse to buy narcotics but then, incredibly, allowed Powell to borrow a cell phone. So then the dude was forced to follow Powell down the street, trying to FLAG DOWN THE POLICE like, excuse me, would you please help me recover my phone from the DRUG DEALER who borrowed it and now won't give it back?

WHAT WAS THIS GUY THINKING? I mean, the one thing he knew about Powell was Powell was trying to deal drugs (allegedly, but, well, look at his RECORD). So if you loan a drug dealer your phone, and he uses the phone to coordinate a drug deal, what does that make you? I mean, besides STUPID? That's right, some kind of accessory.
