Cat Ladies Controversy Heats Up With Arrest Of "Susan" For Not-Exactly-A-Felony First Degree "Ground Feeding"

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

There has been a dramatic new development in the "Cat Ladies Controversy" this blogger previously covered, click here and also here. The cat lady known as "Susan" was arrested in the last few days and jailed.

Susan, whose relationship to Ultimate Cat Lady Joy Mattice is like that of Robin to Batman, or Hawthorne Hawkman to Johnny Northside, was reportedly near 111 22nd Ave. N., on the property of Atomic Recycling, LLC.  Mattice claims she has permission to be on that property and feed an old orange tabby cat named "Leo" who has been around the property for as long as 12 years. However, "Dean and Dale" have a restraining order on Joy Mattice, and live around the corner.

Joy wasn't at the Atomic Recycling property this particular day. Susan was there. And Susan believed she had permission to be on the property...

"Henry Love" Has Felonious Past, But Unknown If This Is Same "Henry Love" Who Was Associated With Murder Victim Lolitta Malone Of 2311 Queen Ave. N.

Creative stock photo, (knife manufactured by Hesco, photo taken at Forward
Operating Base Gardez, Afghanistan) blog post by John Hoff

Late last night, as news hit of a murder at 2311 Queen Ave. N., I was publicly griping about how there weren't enough facts to get much of a handle on the story. Well, now there are facts I can unearth, but the problem is connecting those facts to murder victim Lolitta Marie Malone.

So I will present the facts I have.

Malone was involved in an eviction action in Hennepin County Court quite recently along with somebody named Henry Love. Since Malone and Love are both listed together as defendants against landlord James Swartwood, it would appear...

Arnaz Thompson Tried To Swallow 12 Baggies Of Cocaine, Officers Made Him Spit It Out, Allegedly...

Creative stock photo, (Mmmmm, pie) blog post by John Hoff

When Brooklyn Center police pulled over a vehicle due to its registered owner having a suspended license, the guy at the wheel (Arnaz Thompson) was speaking with a bulge in his mouth and there was "the crinkle of plastic."

Officers asked defendant to open his mouth and saw individually wrapped baggies of...

Police Accused Tyberius Clark Of Burglary, And Tyberius Was All, Like, Didn't You Already Charge Me Over That Burglary? And Police Were All, Like, No, Tyberius, This Is A New One...

Creative stock photo, Minneapolis Police Officer (and winner of One Man
Minneapolis pageant) Mark Klukow

Tyberius Tyrell Clark, DOB 4/29/91, is charged in a burglary in Brooklyn Park. Click here for the criminal complaint against Tyberius.

Clearly, Tyberius is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He broke into the house while wearing a pair of gloves (allegedly) but left the gloves behind. Officers were able to get a DNA sample from the gloves, which matched Tyberius.

Why, you might wonder, did Tyberius have a DNA profile in the state's criminal database....

Details Are Few And Far Between At 2311 Queen Ave. N., Address Featured In "B Roll" During Story About Recent Murder...

Creative stock photo, (teddy looks out upon the mean streets) blog post
by John Hoff

Riddle me this: Why would the mainstream media report about a murder in North Minneapolis and go out of their way to say it happened on the 2300 block of Queen Ave. N. and not mention the specific address?

But then, in the "B roll" footage for the story, the camera focuses on "2311" as the street address? (Click here for that story)

Whatever.

Well, if that address is of interest, let's dig into that address. Keeping in mind that much depends on whether the choice of "B roll" has any logic or was just a picture to flash across the screen...

Inside The Renovation Of Butter Roll Bakery...

Photos, blog post by John Hoff

A couple weeks ago I was inside the old Butter Roll Bakery to check out the renovation efforts spearheaded by Charmaine Wahlstrom and her husband.

But before I could even write about what's happening at the Butter Roll Bakery, two buildings went down, (click here and here) a big neon sign went up on the 4th Street Salon, (click here) and generally the trend of the march of history continued to move decisively in the direction of West Broadway getting nicer. I left my little Butter Roll story aside but, luckily, nobody else is writing about the renovation so it's not like the story got stale...

Michelle Gross And Dave Bicking's Lawsuit Against Former CRA Chair Donald Bellfield Could Be Dismissed January 22...

Creative stock photo, (Forward Operating Base Gardez) blog post by John Hoff

Today a little birdie (not pictured above) dropped some information my way about the lawsuit filed by activists Michelle Gross and Dave Bicking against Donald Bellfield, the former chair of the Civilian Review Authority which reviewed police conduct issues.

I say "reviewed" and not "reviews" because the CRA has been revised and replaced with a different entity, a fact that's neither here nor there in terms of Michelle Gross and Dave Bicking suing Donald Bellfield for defamation, one of Jill Clark's favorite tricks.

The lawsuit...

Admitted Gang Member Had Three Assault Rifles And A Luger Pistol At 1901 26th Ave. N., Say Prosecutors, But Wait Until You Read What Else JNS Blog Dug Up...

post by John Hoff

On December 19, police executed a search warrant at 1901 26th Ave. N. They were looking for Craig Allen Bell and found him in an upstairs bedroom. They also found three SKS assault rifles (different than the three military weapons pictured above, but similar in important ways) and a Luger .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Bell reportedly admitted to being a member of the (Almighty) "Black P Stones" gang, a name which has come up lately in association with a gang war that appears to be taking place in North Minneapolis. Since Bell has a felony drug conviction from 1998, he is prohibited from possessing a weapon, let alone an arsenal. Click here for the criminal complaint.

Bell said he was the only one living there, however...

More Turd Burglar Details, Not A Father To Be Found For The Three Accused Burglars Whose Names Are Known...

Contributed photo, Allen Michael King Accused Turd Burglar,
blog post by John Hoff

It's Christmas Day, a time when many good people in North Minneapolis travel to see relatives who don't live in the neighborhood.

What are these good people thinking while away from their homes?

They are thinking: Will my home and possessions be safe from turd burglars who break into homes and (allegedly) take a big crap in the toilet and wipe with a whole roll of toilet paper? Or will my entire roll of toilet paper be used up while I am gone, and my 1943 Walking Liberty Silver coin will actually go walking off?

In the holiday spirit (OK, not really, but the date coincides) I have decided it's time to write in more detail about the accused Thanksgiving Day turd burglars who tried hard to ruin Thanksgiving for one elderly citizen of North Minneapolis, but instead sparked a dramatic neighborhood self-defense response which literally included one neighbor running around in superhero pajamas...

Carl Dwayne Fleming Arrested On Weapons Charges, OOPS, Just Call Me Johnny Southside...

Creative stock photo, Polish tank at Combat Outpost Arian, Afghanistan,
blog post by John Hoff

Crocodile Dundee accent:

You call that a weapon? That's not a weapon.

Now THIS is a weapon.

I am in possession of a criminal complaint against Carl Dwayne Fleming (click here) because of a typographical error.

It was my error, I can't blame anybody else. Fleming's address is 3620 Penn Ave. SOUTH. I didn't notice he lived in South Minneapolis, not North Minneapolis, when I obtained the complaint. The address doesn't actually EXIST but that's besides the point. (Hey, wait, now there's a typographical error I can blame on SOMEBODY ELSE)

Anyway, I'm notoriously frugal and I don't want to let interesting info go to waste. So here is a link to the criminal complaint.

A silly question, after reading the complaint....

More Details On Thomas Wayne Evenstad's Lawsuit Against Minnesota Sex Offender Treatment Program, Including The Name Of His Lawyer (It's NOT Jill Clark!)

MNDOC mug shot, therefore public domain, blog post by John Hoff

At 2:39 AM Christmas Eve morning, this blog broke the story of Thomas Wayne Evenstad's lawsuit against  Minnesota's sex offender treatment program. The lawsuit document was forwarded by Evenstad himself, who has been intermittently (yet frequently) emailing this blogger.

Evanstad responded yesterday to questions by this blogger about the lawsuit...

More Details, Michael "Kip" Browne Wins $20,000 Judgment Against Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer...

Stock photo, Michael "Kip" Browne, blog post by John Hoff

I now have a hard copy of the $20,000 judgment that neighborhood leader Michael "Kip" Browne won against Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer, a frivolous litigant whose garbled court filings have long been the bane of the Jordan Neighborhood in North Minneapolis, and beyond. I do not yet have a PDF copy of the judgment. When I can get one of those, I will share it.

An actual fat monetary judgment against Rickmyer represents a turning point in the battle against Rickmyer's one-man-war-via-frivolous-court-filings against decent people in North Minneapolis, as I discussed (in a rather creative way) in my previous blog post, click here.

The December 13 judgment makes clear Rickmyer not only richly deserves to pay $20,000 but...

Argument After Drinking And Weed Purchase Causes 25 Stitches To A Woman's Face, Allegedly...

Creative stock photo, perfectly legal tobacco, not the other stuff, blog post by John Hoff

Monica Lasalle Duffie, DOB 12/22/63, is charged with second degree assault after slicing the face of a female acquaintance (allegedly) in an argument over money following the purchase of some marijuana. The weapon reportedly used was a box cutter. Both parties had been drinking before they had the bright idea to buy some weed.

The victim, whose initials are KF, had a cut from the top of her ear down her entire cheek line. The cut required 25 stitches. The incident reportedly happened May 26 but Duffie has been sitting in jail all this time (including today, Christmas Eve) for lack of $40,000 bail.

Click here for the criminal complaint.

Duffie's address (at least as of last May) was 2014 21st Ave. N., a building owned by the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority.

Shocking.

Well, OK, not really.

Marlon Terrelle Collins And Malcolm Cornell Hood Accused Of Burglary...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Marlon Terrelle Collins is still sitting in jail as of today, Christmas Eve, but his (alleged) accomplice Malcolm Cornell Hood is not. I wonder why?

Maybe Hood was smart enough to cut a deal? Who knows?

Anyway, Collins is still on the "naughty list" and I wonder what Christmas Dinner looks like at the Hennepin Couny Jail?

Smells like turkey but tastes like...pumpkin?

Hood is from Fridley and the Fridley Patch already wrote about this story on December 4, click here. But there are three things I can add to the story that are of value...

Lawsuit In Progress By Thomas Wayne Evenstad Against State Sex Offender Treatment Program...

MNDOC photo, therefore public domain, blog post by John Hoff

Thomas Wayne Evenstad, who managed to get himself released from Minnesota's sex offender treatment program with help from attorney Jill Clark, has either filed or is soon planning to file a lengthy lawsuit against individuals in the state's sex offender treatment program.

More details to follow, but for now here's a link to the voluminous document.

This is apparently the way Evenstad tells the world "Merry Christmas." A cursory reading of the complaint reminds me of a kind of prison journal of grievances; a petty manifesto of purported abuses, overly-specific documentation hoarded up for the sake of a naive, childlike estimation its alleged value like a collection of rusty, dinged-up Matchbox cars.

Clark's clients and former clients have not been doing well of late. I wouldn't bet against the trend with Evenstad and this document but in the meantime many trees will suffer.

New Neon For 4Th Street Saloon, Revitalization Of West Broadway Marches Forward...

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

Driving home tonight after weekend visitation with my 15-year-old son, I saw a red neon sign on the 4TH Street Saloon and wondered if my memory was playing tricks. Was the sign new? Had I really never noticed it before? It looked so natural in its placement I wondered if it had been there for years and yet I'd somehow missed it.

I pulled up in the parking lot and looked more closely at the sign. I saw a sticker showing work performed on December 13 of this year.

OK, I thought, SOMETHING happened recently.

I walked into Wings 'N' Things to ask if the sign was new.

Yes, they informed me, it went up a couple days ago.

Before I left, I also found out the folks at Wings 'N' Things are planning to offer some new rice dishes in the near future, and might even begin delivery.

The revitalization of West Broadway moves forward at an amazing pace.

To my blog readers: Please consider this red neon to be my blog putting out the Christmas lights.

Hennepin County Jail Roster, November 25 To December 23, 2012...

Stock photo, image from an alley in the Jordan Neighborhood, blog post by John Hoff

I'm actually being extra nice and merciful in the way I'm publishing this particular jail roster. You see, in the next couple days all kinds of people will be incarcerated for family spats at Christmastime. Those whose charges are dropped or who aren't in the jail for very long won't show up in the next jail roster to be published around January 23, 2013.

But if I waited a couple more days to publish TODAY'S roster?

All their data would end up in the "November to December, 2012" roster.

Hopefully, nobody uses this as an excuse to hit their father with a candlestick. Allegedly.

Having said all that, here's the jail roster, baby...

Little Dribbles Of Information About Eric Yusef Mahmoud And His Mortgage Fraud In Georgia...

Creative stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Eric Yusef Mahmoud is the driving force behind SEED Academy/Harvest Prep, an institution which has received a lot of auditing and scrutiny of late. The fact Mahmoud was involved in a mortgage fraud in Georgia and took some kind of plea deal is a matter of public record, with the longest narrative account (oddly enough) contained in a bond document for his school. (Click here for previous story)

I've been trying to turn up more info about the specifics of what happened. Luckily, I don't have to do it all by myself. Certain alert readers love to dig behind the scenes and send me the fruit of their research...

Michael "Kip" Browne Wins $20,000 Judgment Against Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer...

Stock photo, Michael "Kip" Browne, blog post by John Hoff

The MNCIS online court system is now showing a $20,000 judgment against Peter "Spanky Pete" Rickmyer in the lawsuit Rickmyer filed against former JACC chair Michael "Kip" Browne, (pictured above) and a host of others, including this blogger.

The award is for attorney fees and was made on December 14. I do not yet have a copy of the judgment in hand, but I'm confident it has at least a couple scathing lines about Spanky Pete's lawsuit, from which Browne was dismissed relatively early in the game. Others, including this blogger, are still dealing with the rapidly-fading yet oddly-bouncing remnants of the lawsuit.

Though Rickmyer (a Level Three Sex Offender) has spent many years using garbled filings in court as a vindictive tool leveled at the same world that sent him to prison for molesting minors, this judgement apparently represents the first time one of Rickmyer's bizarre filings resulted in a large monetary judgment.

A storybook history may be in order here, to keep everybody up to speed.

Try to imagine the kind of illustrations you would put into this story if it was really in a storybook, but I will help and provide a few word pictures...

Intense Baby Mama Drama Leads To Birthday Party Knife Throwing Incident, JNS Blog Urges Mercy For Amanda Marie Butcher...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

CBS news already did a story about this incident, "Cops: Father Stabbed By Daughter's Mother At Child's Birthday Party."

I would, however, quibble with the word "stabbed." The knife was thrown (allegedly) and caused a puncture wound on the victim's leg.

"Stabbed" doesn't really cover this kind of sheer ninja knife-throwing skill. Check out the criminal complaint, click here.

This was a case of intense baby mama drama. Readers want and demand more than the bare details provided by CBS. Here is the colorful blog version...

Deandre Shawn Freeman Goes To Prison For "Furniture Mistreatment" Shooting Incident...

MNDOC mugshot, therefore public domain, blog post by John Hoff

If my name was Deandre Shawn Freeman, and I was going to pick an alias, I'd probably go with something like "William Jones." You know, something common....something that doesn't stand out from the crowd...certainly not a memorable name.

But what does Freeman use for an alias?

Lavelle Wayne Sprinkle.

(Rolling my eyes)

This according to the criminal complaint that ultimately sent Freeman to prison until 2017 for a North Minneapolis shooting that started as a dispute over how another guy (Edwaldon Fells) was treating the furniture...

Spanky Pete ("He," "Him," "The Spankinator") Files More Gibberish In Federal Court...

Department of Corrections Mug Shot, therefore public domain, blog

A few days ago I reported on Level Three Sex Offender Peter Richard Stephenson (a/k/a Peter Rickmyer, a/k/a Spanky Pete, a/k/a Creepy Pete, a/k/a Stinky Pete, a/k/a Pete The Pedophile, a/k/a Pete The Perv, a/k/a Pete The Pervert) filing some gibberish in federal court in the case of Wells Fargo, NA versus Jill Clark.

And, yes, it is indeed odd that Pete is filing stuff in Jill Clark's case, but the way I look upon it he can hardly do worse for Jill Clark's cause than Jill Clark herself...

Seeking Creative Workarounds To Broken Recent Comments Widget...

JNS Blog readers miss the "recent comments" widget. This is a wider problem for a number of Blogspot users. Troy Parker, Frequent Flyer On Litigation Airlines, PART FOUR, The Sad Little Saga Of Parker Mechanical...

Stock photo, heater and air conditioning installation, this is NOT a photo

Frequent political "also ran" Troy Parker, who is also a frequent flyer on Litigation Airlines (click here for previous story) was involved in a business entity called Parker Mechanical Inc and, it would appear, a business entity just called Parker Mechanical. (Parker Mechanical was just an assumed name, Parker Mechanical INCORPORATED was an actual corporation)

Those two business entities no longer exist but information exists on the "inactive" business portion of the Minnesota Secretary of State website.

Both businesses were registered at 4933 Penn Ave. N., the same as Troy Parker's campaign headquarters for world domination, starting with local offices.

If he could ever win.

Parker Mechanical INCORPORATED had Arylnn Parker as its chief executive officer, though the state website spells her name "Aelynn." Parker Mechanical INCORPORATED was created in 2000 but was...

Fire 'N' Ice Building Is Down, Dean Rose YOU DA MAN!!!

Dean Rose of Broadway Liquor Outlet said the old Fire 'N' Ice building would be demolished before the end of the year and I said I'd believe it when I see it.

Well, I see it. I believe it.

The photo above shows a souvenir brick and part of an old sign that Jeff Skrenes (the Hawthorne Hawkman) scavenged as souvenirs of neighborhood revitalization. Progress on West Broadway marches forward and the forces of squalor and decay better get out of the way or get run over.

Bond Document Reveals Much About Harvest Prep, Some Details About Eric Yusef Mahmoud's Involvement In A Mortgage Fraud...

Creative stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

I will probably have to preface any story about bond issues at Harvest Prep/SEED Academy with this disclaimer: bonds are not one of my areas of knowledge. But there is a story here, (the Star Tribune thinks there is a story, also) and even without expertise in bonds I know that sentences like "The Borrower has previously committed monetary and other defaults on several monetary obligations..." are worrisome.

So I will throw the relevant documents out in the world for public scrutiny and I will highlight what I see as worrisome sections of the documents.

Click here for extensive document on the Harvest Prep bonds.

According to a regular reader of mine who knows a little something about bonds, the following...

Johnny Northside Writes "One Word" About Don Allen...

Photo used under First Amendment Fair Comment And Criticism, blog
post (such as it is) by John Hoff

Behind the scenes, I am following an interesting story about "shakedown blogger" Don Allen. And in the course of this story I heard through the grapevine Don Allen said, "If John Hoff writes ONE WORD about me...!!!!!"

So I just wanted to say...

One word. About Don Allen.

Edwaldon Fells Sent To Prison, Though Not For Long Enough...

MNDOC stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Edwaldon Fells was involved in a non-fatal shooting in North Minneapolis in which a father shielded his 3-year-old daughter from bullets. The bullets were (allegedly) fired by another guy but Fells was right there driving the getaway vehicle and the dispute which led to the shooting (incredibly) involved Fells being told he couldn't stay at a house because, well, he wasn't taking good care of the furniture.

On December 14, it appeared from jailhouse roster info this guy had been released and I wrote a story asking WTF, click here. (That story also contains the revealing criminal complaint with the facts about the shooting)

Today I've learned Fells was released. But he was released to PRISON.

Here is his mug shot, above.

Looks like his release date will be...

May of 2016?

I'm STILL asking WTF.

Trying To Make Sense Of Harvest Prep Finances, What Is Up With January 1 Bond Redemption By City of Minneapolis?

Creative stock photo, slide rule collection at MIT, blog post by John Hoff

This blog is not the only entity asking interested questions about the finances of Harvest Prep, the subject of recent blog coverage, click here and here and also here.

The Star Tribune wrote a story in August, "Harvest Prep asked to reveal details of finances." (Hurry, click here before the STrib link goes dead or takes you to a website asking you to pay for old junk in their archive) Until the last few days, I confess that I didn't have a firm grasp on how massive these finances are. I mean, my word, we're talking about the BOND MARKET, here.

The bond market is not my forte. Give me a nice criminal complaint any old time, and I'll unscramble it and try to make some sense of it.

Having said that...

Troy Parker, Frequent Flyer On Litigation Airlines, PART THREE Featuring THREE MORE LAWSUITS...

Photo used under First Amendment Fair Comment and Criticism,
blog post by John Hoff

Troy Parker, a frequent "also ran" for political office, seems to have something of a sideline career as a frequent flyer on litigation airlines. Click here for Part One, and here for Part Two.

Of course, he's not always in court because he WANTS to be.

There was that time he was a witness to a shooting. His own. (Click here) Though the circumstances described don't exactly make him sound like a sympathetic victim. There was talk of somebody cooking up some crack.

Of course, by my rough and approximate count, most of the time when Troy Parker is in court it's because he's the plaintiff and he's dishing it out to, well, anybody who messes with his precious CAR seems to be a dominant theme...

Prolific Northside Car Thief Faces Sentencing, Impact Statements Being Collected...

Photo circulated by 4th Precinct Court Watch, used under First Amendment
Fair Comment and Criticism

Gao Yang, DOB 8/23/86, is charged with stealing seven cars "mostly in the Fourth Precinct." He has a hearing on December 21st and citizens are being solicited for impact statements. I'm not sure how I got on the "impact statement listserv" but this link is probably a good place to start if you're interested, click here.

Yang was allegedly driving a stolen red Honda with a stolen plate (off a different car) when a routine license plate scan hit the jackpot.

The jail roster reveals his address is 2918 Oliver Ave. N., which appears to be a home owned by relatives. His bail is set at $50,000.

There was an argument about how people staying at the house were not taking good care of the furniture. Edwaldon Fells was told he could no longer stay at the house.

Edwaldon was not happy. He called somebody on the phone and was heard to yell "Bring that thing!" He left but came back with two comrades, one of them recognized to be Deandre Shawn Freeman, also known (of course) as "Dre."

Before coming back, Edwaldon reportedly called multiple times, threatening to come over and shoot the person who he eventually shot. Allegedly.

Did anybody at the house call police BEFORE the shooting? Well...

Utilities Disconnected At Fire 'N' Ice On West Broadway As Prelude To Demolition...

Jeff Skrenes of the Hawthorne Hawkman blog forwarded this photo yesterday, noting that utilities are being disconnected at the old Fire 'N' Ice building on West Broadway. Both buildings are being leveled to make way for the new Broadway Liquor Outlet which will feature both commercial space and apartments.

Turd Burglar Paper Trail Falls Into The Hands Of JNS BLOG, Oh Geez, There's Something Oh So WRONG About That Sentence...

Photo by John Hoff, aftermath of Thanksgiving Day Turd Burglary
Incident, blog post by John Hoff

More commentary and details later, for now all I have time to say is three criminal complaints filed against "16 and over" juvenile suspects in a now-infamous Thanksgiving Day burglary incident have made their way to my hands.  I am immediately sharing them with readers, see links below.

The documents are all substantially the same except for the suspect's names and addresses, plus names and addresses of parents at the top of the forms.

I thought it was Christmas the other day when Jill Clark filed a 99 page document full of undiluted, chock-full-of-nuts crazy, but it turns out this is the real Christmas present. Thank you, Santa, for the name of one more accused turd burglar, Allen Michael King, DOB 10/4/95, 2320 Dupont Ave. N.

Complaint, Allen Michael King

Complaint, Marquese Perkins, which may also be spelled Marcquese Perkins, I have seen it both ways.

Complaint, Navarr Ross

More later as I dig into these addresses and names.

"Spanky Pete" Rickmyer Files Pile Of Gibberish In Federal Court, Johnny Northside Translates The Obscure Language Spoken By Inhabitants Of Spankspankistan For The Amusement And Edification Of Readers...

MNDOC mug shot, therefore public domain, blog post by John Hoff

Peter Richard Stephenson, who goes by Peter Rickmyer and used to file a lot of frivolous crap in Hennepin County District Court before being declared a Rule 9 frivolous litigant, has apparently found a new legal playground in which he can frolic and submit gibberish filings.

Federal District Court.

Rickmyer has filed a number of documents in the case of Wells Fargo, NA versus Jill Clark, et al, a case which can be summarized as yet another of attorney Jill Clark's loony cries of loondom into an uncaring universe as her legal career spirals downward amid disciplinary cases in both federal and state court.

Astute readers (and there are so many of you!) right away might be thinking, "Why is RICKMYER making a filing in the case? Isn't Jill Clark Rickmyer's attorney? So why would the CLIENT be making a filing instead of his own attorney?"

To which I say...

Turd Burglar Math, JNS Blog Confirms SEVEN, Yes, SEVEN Turd Burglars Arrested...

Contributed photo, blog post by John Hoff

The other day a maddening little Northside mystery was solved for me. If six turd burglars were arrested after a Thanksgiving Day burglary involving seven burglars, why were only four of them booked?

Two possibilities occurred to me: In the heat and excitement of the moment, the residents involved in calling police and momentarily trapping the burglars in the house (which was key in preventing a getaway, even one of the arresting officers said so) may have miscounted the number of turd burglars emerging from doors and a window.

Or, (second possibility) not all the burglars were booked because some of them were such little fish they may have been released to parents.

If a correction had been in order in regard to the number of burglars originally reported, this blog would have written a correction without hesitation...

Highly Placed, Reliable Government Source Confirms Northside "Also Ran" Troy Parker Is The Same Troy Parker Shot By Darryl Colbert Under Dubious Circumstances...

Photo used under First Amendment Fair Comment and Criticism, blog post by

This blog was not the first media entity to raise the question of whether Troy Everett Parker, frequent "also ran" for North Minneapolis political office, was the same Troy Parker shot by Darryl Colbert under dubious and disreputable circumstances vividly described in State v. Colbert, click here for that case.

No, that question was first raised by the Mpls Mirror, an execrable little media entity which, all the same, might be somewhat like the clock which has stopped but is still right twice a day.

Due to a belief political alliances might shift and the material on the Mirror site could disappear, this blogger took the trouble to preserve a series of "loaded questions" the Mirror directed at Troy Parker, (click here for that blog post) including the question about whether "our" Troy Parker is the same guy described in State v. Colbert.

This blog is now able to confirm...

"Wire Tapped Murder," More Background On The Gang-On-Gang Killing Of Darrell Fisher...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

A story on Fox 9 aired in late November revealed interesting details about the murder of Darrell Fisher. Incredibly, Minneapolis police and FBI had wiretaps running and knew about the threat made against Fisher by a fellow member of Young 'N' Thuggin (YNT). Click here for the Fox 9 story.

For a number of reasons, not the least of which being an inability to find the shooter and not knowing "Black" was the street alias of Darrell Fisher, authorities couldn't stop the murder. Naturally, the family wants to blame police instead of their own gang-involved relative.

An active citizen in North Minneapolis did forward some additional information about this murder, including the fact Fisher lived in a duplex at 2725 - 2727 Humboldt Avenue North and the owner of the property is scheduled for a rental inspection, gee, when?

107 North Minneapolis Homes Without Power, Xcel Is Working On The Problem...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

According to a customer service rep with Xcel, 107 homes in North Minneapolis are without power right now as a result of a problem with an overhead fuse. Crews are working on it and it is hoped power will be restored by 2 PM today.

Do not open your fridge. Keeping the fridge closed will keep the food cold since the fridge is insulated. Your food should be fine as long as the outage doesn't persist for days instead of hours. It is advised to unplug appliances so they don't become damaged due to a surge when power is restored but, frankly, I've never seen that actually happen. You can heat your house with your kitchen gas stove, but you may have to light the burners with a match. This is perfectly safe, just don't get your finger in the flames.

Thank goodness my laptop has full battery power.

Blogging operations will continue, uninterrupted.

"Shakedown Blogger" Don Allen Sought Restraining Order Against Activist Al Flowers Last Summer, ALL THE JUICY DETAILS, Plus A "Gloves Are Off" Johnny Northside Editorial About Don "Judas" Allen, My Former Co-Defendant In The Blogosphere Trial Of The Century...

In a recent blog post about Don Allen's email sent to me in Afghanistan, in which Allen forwarded information about Minneapolis Public Schools money paid to, among others, Al Flowers, I made passing mention of a restraining order Don Allen tried to file against Al Flowers. (27-CV-11-13351, Donald WR Allen II v. Alfred Flowers) When I wrote that blog post, I didn't have all the info about the (attempted) restraining order.

Well, now I have the info...

JNS Blog Asks, "Where Are The Praxis Marketplace Stores Promised In 2009 By Glenn Ford?"

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

This meatloaf and various side dishes, served at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, was allegedly a favorite of Elvis.

I ask you, does this dish look fit for a king?

Which doesn't quite bring me to the subject at hand. Back in 2009, Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine (mspmag.com) ran a story about a guy named Glenn Ford of Praxis Marketplace. Click here for a PDF image of that story.

Ford was planning a chain of grocery stores which would be a source of "jobs, pride, power, community renewal, particularly in ethnic urban communities." The article said Ford was planning to open the first Praxis Marketplace in North Minneapolis.

At the time this article appeared, I thought to myself, huh? Who is this guy Glenn Ford? Is he for real? Is he going to do what he promises or is he a flim flam artist? I ripped the article out of the magazine and had it on my fridge for the longest time. For a while my fridge was a source of long-term "to do" lists.

Eventually, I took the article off the fridge and made it into a PDF file, which has been floating on my virtual desktop for a couple years, now. I look at the icons on my desktop and there's the little face of Glenn Ford, holding three bell peppers and touting his vision of grocery stores.

Today I'm snowed in and writing stuff that will auto-publish in the middle of the day on Monday. I can approach stories that have sat upon my mental back burner for a while, cooking.

So today it's time to ask the question, "Where are the Praxis Marketplace stores promised in 2009 by Glenn Ford?"

Ford, you see, has a vision...

Another Mysterious Don Allen Email, This One Sent To Me In Afghanistan, Discusses Minneapolis Public Schools Money Paid To Al Flowers...

Photo, a Mercedes truck from the 1950s still in use in Afghanistan, blog
post by John Hoff

I like to say Afghanistan was a blast.

Fortunately, I wasn't killed in the blast.

I spent 9 months and 11 days on foreign service, which is a pretty cool numerical coincidence, I think. Obviously my prolific neighborhood blogging paid the price, since free time was limited and when I did have free time, well, what would you do? Shop in an exotic foreign bazaar? Or blog about neighborhood doings literally on the other side of the planet?

But blog about this side of the planet I did, usually when my free time coincided with bad weather or the Muslim sabbath; during which times the bazaar was closed. Or one time when I was recovering from dental surgery. Anyway, I got some free time here and there, and sometimes the internet was working (sometimes it wasn't) and I'd manage to blog or check emails on my free time.

In Afghanistan. It's a small world after all.

Somehow, though, I missed an email forwarded by Don Allen about a Minneapolis Public Schools "Community Support Initiative" (CSI) which involved some of the money going to community activist Al Flowers. I was searching through old emails recently and, oh my goodness, what was that email from Don Allen about? The one dated December 1, 2011...

Troy Parker, Frequent Flyer On Lawsuit Airlines, PART TWO, Waitress, There Is An Unknown Foreign Object In My Food...

Stock photo, Thanksgiving dinner with John Foster and Melony Michaels, blog post

Troy Parker, a perennial also ran for political office in North Minneapolis, seems like the kind of person who will sue at the drop of a hat. History shows that's exactly the sort of person this blogger can't resist writing about...

Zenas K. Farkarlun Charged With Aggravated First Degree Robbery, Has Extensive Record...

I don't know if Zenas Farkarlun is any relation to false accuser of police Trisha Farkarlun, but Zena's surname caught my attention as I was looking through the jail roster. And then it turned out Zenas has a North Minneapolis address.

Well, that's good enough...

Progress In The Hawthorne EcoVillage, House Goes Up At 3016 6th St. N., GEE THAT ADDRESS SEEMS FAMILIAR...

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

The history of 3016 6th St. N. is intimately entangled with the history of this blogger. In short, after I purchased beat up little house on that property I found out I was standing right in the path of a visionary neighborhood development project. So I sold the house at 3016 6th St. N. and I bought another house, click here.

The house at 3016 6th St. N. was demolished and a vacant lot was there for a long time. But now, finally, a house is going up at that spot...

Mysterious Don Allen Email To Star Tribune Reporter Raises Question Of Test Score Tampering At Harvest Prep, That Question Comes From DON ALLEN, So Take It For What It's Worth, But WTF, Don, WTF?

Facebook photo of Don "Shakedown Blogger" Allen, used under
First Amendment Fair Comment and Criticism

While the Johnny Northside blog has written two articles raising questions about Eric Yusef Mahmoud, the convicted mortgage fraudster who is the founder of SEED Academy/Harvest Prep, blogger Don Allen has been pretty much carrying Mahmoud like a supportive beast of burden.

(Click here and here for my previous two blog posts)

But for a while I thought, well, that's fine. Don Allen smells money in Eric's pants pockets, so Don Allen will do his thing and, to balance out the universe, I will do my thing. But now I have to raise questions about what Don Allen supposedly knew back in August of this year about alleged test score tampering at Harvest Prep....

Troy Parker, Frequent Flyer On Lawsuit Airlines, PART ONE...

Photo used under First Amendment Fair Comment And Criticism,
blog post by John Hoff

Technically, this could be PART FIFTY-ONE of The Madness of Jill Clark, since Clark was the attorney in this little legal fiasco, but I've already made it clear I'm not trying to run up the score against Clark while she is (by her own assertions) a mental case not functioning at her former capacity. So, in a spirit of kindness (sarcastic eye roll) this little ditty can be PART ONE of Troy Parker, Frequent Flyer On Lawsuit Airlines.

Fasten your seat belts, we're entering some messy turbulence, folks.

Most Johnny Northside readers know Troy Parker as one of the more sharply dressed Northside "also rans" whose name appears on the ballot as surely as mushrooms appear in doggy doo doo after a rain storm, but Troy is so much more. Troy is a much aggrieved, much suing frequent flyer in our court system. This is only Part One. I'm still researching his little lawsuit about the (oh god!!! Oh god!!! STEWARDESS!!!!) foreign object in his food.

Troy Parker and his (I assume) long suffering wife Arlynn C. Parker filed a lawsuit on or about May 16, 2011, naming a number of defendants: Spire Federal Credit Union, Crystal Collission Inc, North Suburban Towing, Inc, American Family Insurance, Wilson Mutual Insurance Company, and some "John Doe" defendants and corporations because everything is a conspiracy with unknown evil actors, don't you know?

You know. Don't act like you don't know. I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHY WE'RE HERE.

This blog wrote previously about the existence of the lawsuit but didn't have the details. Well, now I have the details.

The lawsuit, on its face, was a fairly dry matter. A vehicle was damaged in an auto accident and there was a dispute about how well the vehicle was fixed. The lawsuit failed miserably and was dismissed "with prejudice" on December 3, which is what sent me scurrying to the court vaults to see how another of Jill's little legal fiascos played out.

It wasn't pretty. The lawsuit failed for three main reasons...
