Criminal Complaints Against Ike NMN Wilson, Accused In "Janky Gun" Homicide...

Creative stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

I recently obtained a copy of two criminal complaints against Ike NMN Wilson, who is accused of accidentally shooting Jason Youngmark at a backyard barbeque. Click here for your very own copy of the complaint regarding the shooting. More in a bit about the criminal complaint concerning the alleged robbery incident.

Were They Serving Weenies?

In regard to the "backyard barbeque shooting," Wilson is a sex offender and shouldn't have been allowed to TOUCH a weapon but, well, he was touching it...

Ike Wilson, Junior, The Sex Offender "Janky Gun Shooter," Is Free On Bond...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Ike Wilson, the predatory sex offender who allegedly killed Jason Youngmark with a "janky" pistol that went off by itself, is now free on bond...

A blog commentator who claims (rather convincingly) to be Youngmark's brother posted information from the Hennepin County Jail roster showing Wilson was released. A bit more digging into the jail roster reveals Wilson posted $70,000 bond. Of that bond, $20K was for the charge of failing to register as a predatory offender, and the remaining $50k was for the murder charge. No bail was required for the manslaughter or wrongful weapon possession.

Here is the unedited info straight off the jail roster:

1/1 PREDATORY OFFENDER- KNOWINGLY VIOLATES REGISTRATION REQ. OR INTENTIONALLY PROVIDES FALSE INFORMATION MINNEAPOLIS PD WARRANT FELONY BOND POSTED $20,000
BOND POSTED JAIL 4/10/2012..14:30 DOWNTOWN Address

2/1 MURDER MINNEAPOLIS PD PROBABLE CAUSE PROB CAUSE FORMALLY CHARGED $50,000
BOND POSTED JAIL 4/10/2012..14:30 DOWNTOWN Address

2/2 MANSLAUGHTER - 2ND DEGREE - CULPABLE NEGLIGENCE CREATING UNREASONABLE RISK MINNEAPOLIS PD PROBABLE CAUSE FELONY BOND POSTED $0

BOND POSTED JAIL 4/10/2012..14:30 DOWNTOWN Address
2/3 POSSESS PISTOL/ASSAULT WEAPON-CONVICTION OR ADJUDICATED DELINQUENT FOR CRIME OF VIOLENCE MINNEAPOLIS PD PROBABLE CAUSE FELONY BOND POSTED $0
BOND POSTED JAIL 4/10/2012..14:30 DOWNTOWN Address

I find it outrageous that bail was set so low and no bail was required for two incredibly serious crimes. It's my understanding that anybody who can come up with ten percent of bail can obtain a bond from a bondsman, so we're talking about, what? Seven thousand dollars, here? Probably from a relative? I doubt very much if Ike Wilson, Jr. has that money laying around.

Even if this killing was an accident--and there's certainly plenty of evidence to show it was--still we have a predatory offender who was allegedly interested in buying a firearm when he is prohibited from doing so. Why? What kind of awful things was he plotting?

And yet that (alleged) possession of a firearm isn't worth a couple grand in required bail? MANSLAUGHTER isn't worth five figures in bail money?

I'm sure the family of Jason Youngmark is upset about this, and they have good reason to be.

JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: Dodgy Details On The Jason Youngmark "Janky" Pistol In The Hands Of A Sex Offender At The Backyard Barbeque Shooting...

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

After the shooting of Jason Youngmark, this blog revealed details about his criminal background...including the fact Youngmark, admittedly, seemed to be doing better in the last several years of his life.

Now, however, details are emerging about Youngmark's death that cast considerable doubt on whether Youngmark was indeed living on the straight and narrow path. Also, it turns out Youngmark's brother, Jermar Arradondo, is quite a piece of work himself...

The Star Tribune tells the (alleged) story in a fairly straightforward way. Here's the more colorful Johnny Northside summary.

There was a barbeque and everybody was just chilling, having a good time. Jason was there and had a handgun he hoped to sell to his longtime friend, Ike Wilson, who just happens to be a SEX OFFENDER.

But that's OK. Wilson was allowed to be at the barbeque. Don't judge.

The gun was all jacked up ("janky") but Youngmark still hoped to sell it to his friend the SEX OFFENDER, Ike Wilson. After all, even a gun that doesn't work is still useful for intimidation purposes. Heck, some people use PRETEND guns, and manage to rob and intimidate just the same, so obviously a .357 Magnum would do the trick, even if it didn't work. So what did the SEX OFFENDER want the gun for?

Well, who cares? A pervert's money is still green, isn't it?

So Youngmark and Ike Wilson disappeared into the stairwell...not to do anything SEXUAL, you understand, but to transact business over the gun. But the gun didn't NOT work as advertised. In fact, it actually WENT OFF and hit Youngmark in the chest.

At that point Ike Wilson--who almost certainly exploded forth with all kinds of colorful language, profane expressions ranging from surprised to angry to self-pitying--fled the scene.

Wilson kept calling to apologize, of course, but at some level Wilson had to feel this WAS NOT REALLY HIS FAULT. And, uncomfortably, I find myself somewhat in agreement with Wilson, if Wilson's story is true. Youngmark bears at least half the blame. In fact, since Youngmark didn't know the qualities of his own weapon ("his own" in the sense of possession, god only knows who REALLY owned that gun) and (it sounds like) initiated the idea of selling the weapon to Wilson, and since Wilson obviously is cracked in the head (the man is a sex offender!) I'd say Youngmark is SIXTY PERCENT responsible for his own death.

Of course, as a predatory sex offender Wilson KNOWS he shouldn't have a weapon. Hmmmm. I find myself weighing things in the Scales of Justice, here...

Fine, then. Fifty fifty.

Unlike some bloggers (NUTTY CLARK BAR! Cough, cough) when I promise information, I actually deliver it. Here's more info that I've dug up about the participants in this ridiculous, bloody mess which starts with a sex offender at the barbeque and ends in death.

Jermar Arradondo, who is Youngmark's older brother (according to the Star Tribune) and who publicly urged his brother's killer to turn himself in, has quite a legal record himself if he's the same Jermar Roman Arradondo whose name appears in Hennepin County online court records. (Very likely)

Here is the record of Jermar R. Arradondo.

Appears to have amended his plea to guilty. Found guilty.

Unsupervised probation. Anger management. Sentenced to 60 days, got two days credit. Sentenced to work release "if eligible." Unknown what actually happened, there. Had a probation violation hearing, warrant issued, ADMITTED to a probation violation...

But finished his probation.

4TH DEGREE DWI - ALCOHOL

The 3rd Degree was dismissed. He was convicted on the 4th degree. Received unsupervised probation, 30 days in the workhouse were stayed, credit for a day served.

However, this last case was back in 2004. It is possible that Jermar has straightened up, a bit. Of course, Jermar's brother Jason Youngmark supposedly straightened up, and now Youngmark is dead after an (alleged) attempt to sell a weapon to a sex offender.

So let's take a closer look at that sex offender, Ike Wilson.

Ike (No Middle Name) Wilson lists his address on the jail roster as 2645 Girard Ave. N. The property is owned by a person who is also named "Wilson," whose record I looked up and found only a minor legal obstruction charge.

The jail roster lists Ike NMN Wilson's birthday as February 6, 1983, which is very useful for sorting out all the legal charges against Ike Wilson JUNIOR (this is our man) versus a real no account named Ike Wilson, Sr. (Not our man)

Despite the extreme similarity in names and the likely pattern in ages (1960 and 1983) I can't be POSITIVE Ike Senior is a relative of Ike Junior, so for now I will leave aside Ike Wilson SENIOR.

However, April Fools Day is Ike Senior's birthday so...

Happy birthday, Ike.

Here's the criminal record for Ike Wilson, Jr., which includes a lot more than JUST being a sex offender.

Looks like his probation was to run from 12/29/2011 to 12/29/2012, which would mean Ike was on probation when he was dickering over the "janky" handgun in the stairwell and accidentally shot his friend.

The considerable evidence here appears to show Ike is and always has been a diehard recidivist though the system has cut him break after break. Ike will not be reformed. He simply needs to be removed from the streets for a long, long time.

JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: Criminal Record Of Jason Youngmark, 33, Latest North Minneapolis "Shooting Victim With A Shaky Past"

Stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

Since Matt McKinney of the Star Tribune apparently doesn't perceive it as HIS journalistic duty to fully inform the public, I am taking the task on myself from the other side of the planet. (Click here for McKinney's article)

Jason Youngmark, 33, the latest victim of North Minneapolis gun violence, had a clean record from 2001 (driving with no insurance) up until 2010, when he was charged with something exceedingly minor--parking in an alley between 2 and 6 AM. As McKinney noted in his article, the young man did hae some "struggles" early in life.

Like, um, COCAINE....

Here are the full details, minus that whole "oh, he was the best guy in the whole world" stuff that mainstream print journalists still instinctively revert to, like this was the late 1800s or something and the truth about murder victims wasn't just a few keystrokes away in online court records.

Geez.

In the case above, the case was "continued for drug diversion." Jason didn't always show up when he was supposed to...there was a warrant issued at one point. In 1999, Jason finished his probation March 31, 1999. There was a $1,000 fine but it appears to have been stayed.

Funny, somehow this incident just before the end of his probation didn't seem to have had any real impact on Jason. He was convicted of "careless driving" but the other charges were dismissed. (Sniff sniff...does anybody else smell plea bargain?)

Pleaded not guilty. Amended his plea. Convicted. Got THREE DAYS of "sentence to service" in lieu of time. Twelve days left on his sentence STAYED. Unsupervised probation. However, Jason kept his nose clean until 2010, when he had the very minor parking in an alley conviction...the same statute also covers being parked more than 6 hours on a highway, so it could have been THAT instead.

Given his shaky past, I'm left to wonder "was Jason keeping out of trouble, or was he back into something bad?" (Is the conviction about where and when he was ILLEGALLY PARKED any kind of clue?)

Though the late Mr. Youngblood is to be commended for (apparently) avoiding criminal charges in the State of Minnesota for almost a decade, near the end of his life, all the same his unfortunate death falls into the same old pattern of individuals whose criminal records reveal them to be no angles and then they somehow end up dead in North Minneapolis gun violence. Seriously, are we obligated by politeness to feign shock and surprise?

However, we should be able to depend on journalists like Matt McKinney to give us these facts instead of sugar coating reality. The Star Tribune fell short on this story.
