A little more than two months after a broad daylight Thanksgiving burglary attempt against the home of a respected senior citizen, click here for more details, court proceedings against the seven alleged miscreants are moving forward at a constipated pace.
Word reached me awhile ago that Darkese Shorter failed to make a pretrial hearing on January 9. (The title of the email with this information was "Stupid Kid.") Jermaine Washington, whose name I didn't have until the last couple days, reportedly pleaded guilty and among other things will have to attend a gun offender program. Based on this information, the victim of the burglary assumes that Jermaine Washington was armed when he was apprehended after the burglary.
After Darkese Shorter missed his January 9 hearing, he was arrested some days later by the Juvenile Authorities but returned to his parents.
Diamonte Latrell Morris, who apparently goes by "Latrell Morris," has a juvenile hearing coming up soon which a solid number of Hillside Ave. N. residents will be attending as witnesses. Navarr Ross has a hearing at the same time.
The latest word is that Darkese Shorter, who seemed like such a dumb kid when he missed the January 9 hearing and got re-arrested, is actually the sharpest knife in the drawer. Shorter has reportedly pleaded guilty and will get his record expunged for testifying against the others.
There is, of course, no such thing as "blogosphere records expungement."
